Default Worth it to replace exhaust setup?

I posted this in another forum and didn't get much of a response so I'll ask opinions again.

I have a 2002 WS6 M6

- 2.5 LS6 heads
- Torquer V3
- Fast 92/92
- Kooks 1 3/4 headers w/ GMMG
- 98mm lid / 90mm MAF

Would it be worth it to replace my exhaust setup with Kooks stepped headers and their true duals? Not too concerned about the $$$ because I would sell my exhaust to subsidize part of it. But it would only be worth it if I could get at least 20rwhp out of the swap.

I am 90% sure you would not see the gains you want (maybe 10rwhp) but it would sound a hell of a lot better.

The sound is good since I have cats....a little loud with very little rasp but nothing I cant deal with.

I know the TD's would sound better, but its not woth the hassle just for that and 10hp..

I just figured 10 rwhp from the headers and 10 rwhp from the duals wouldnt be far off.

I've seen cars that were making ~480rwhp break the 500 mark with mods like those. You should see some gains, especially if you ditched the cats during the switch. I don't know if the headers would give you a full 10rwhp gain on your combo. If it were me counted eggs before they hatched I would call it 5-7rwhp just so I wasn't disappointed.

Gains will be be fairly certain, the question is just whether or not you would see the 20+ you want. Maybe someone else will chime in with another opinion.

Here's a thread where Maryland speed dynoed Kooks stepped headers compared to Kooks 1 7/8 headers. Amazing they got 10 rwhp.
