It's too cold to work! Can't we wait until May and then work for 3 days straight. It would make for a great story.

Ticketing Company Suffers “Server Stroke” - Responsible For Network Gridlock During the PINKS All Out Racer Registration

Maryland Int’l Raceway has spent the last several months developing and preparing the driver registration process for the highly anticipated return of PINKS All Out. We provided a great deal of information to the racers, crew members and spectators to help ensure a smooth online experience for everyone.
Then, with just an hour left to go, the final piece of fun was posted on the MIR site, "When this message disappears... You're On Live - But Certainly Not Alone! Let the races begin..." At 7:00 pm sharp, the ticket purchasing link was officially posted on MIR’s website. This effortlessly jumped every user from the MIR site to the sales site of the ticketing company.
However, their doors weren’t just opened, they were overrun with over 5,200 simultaneous server queue requests. This mountain of incoming requests shot the server over capacity within just a few seconds; creating a bottleneck of congestion that lasted for two hours.
We were assured by the ticketing company that the anticipated volume of sales would be handled efficiently. We were extremely disappointed and frustrated that all of our efforts ended up with this result. While the system didn’t entirely “crash”, it was painstakingly slow. Keep in mind however, the bottom line is that over 5,200 people attempted to buy the 400 available entries - all at the same time! While the process was incredibly frustrating, the outcome was still the same as with all other recent PINKS All Out events; with 400 entries sold and a countless number of racers disappointed they were unable to get in.
Unfortunately, it took almost two hours for the gridlock to squeeze 400 driver entries and over 1,000 spectator tickets through the system. We sincerely apologize for the distress and frustration that this has caused.

All is not lost...

If you werent able to purchase your racer entry last night you can still run in the qualifier event on May 2, 2009

Read this flyer for the details.

I did try to sign up.. and it was locked up. By the time it was unlocked, it was full... so no go for me.

My fab guy did get picked, so when ya see a marroon 70 nova crack off a 7 second pass, that's him

I might take a ride down to hang with him for the event, have to wait until it gets closer though.
