I'll be up for the challenge. I got to work on my driver mod a bit, but I'm sure it will still be fun.

its holdin up in my old mans car without spray, but he is 460-480 at the tire. i dont like the chatter, clatter etc of the couple others i tried. and for the amount im going to juice it, it should be ok. my stock ls6 clutch lasted 20,000 without spray and 3,000 with spray, and even now i can get 4-5 highway runs out of it. thats with no sticky tires tho.

Unless you have some extensive weight reduction.... I dont see you running with the z06.... On spray that is.

I have a 01 Z06 with a CAI only as well and it only made 362rwhp and my Cobra only pulls about 4 cars on it, so....

Good luck man!!!

The car went 11.41 @ 124 with just pully, intake, catback, x-pipe and no weight reduction... If the stage 5 doesn't do it, I've got other options. I'm just trying to take it easy, I'm trying not to ruin the car by going too far.

It can be a hit/miss too.I've got 3 fairly new LS7 clutches at the shop out of new Z06's that were slipping with fairly stock power.
Just for the time to put a clutch in a C5,I would waste it on a LS7 clutch.

ive driven a bunch of spec cars, i drove a buddys SC vett with a mccloud in it, (he had that taken out and put an ls7 in because he couldnt stand it. my other buddys sc Z06 has a spec and i dont want to do that to my car, the chatter, traffic conditions etc it sucks. have been out of the clutch game for a while. anyone making anthing with stock feel that will hold power?

Monster clutches have been getting unbelievable reviews for just that. My vette has a monster stage III in it, supposedly it will hold over 700rwhp and has relatively tame street manners. I will be picking it up tomorrow and will have to break it in. If you want to see how it feels, I'll let you take it for a drive.

Yes,the clutch game has changed alot. The monster 3 has been doing well but I have no long term results.Mcleod RXT is extremely streetable and SPEC just totally changed the 3+ line with bigger disks, lighter PP and they are much more drivable now.

Most people that have a slipping LS7 don't even know it.They slip gradually.I will say that the LS7 clutch has given us alot of tranny rebuilds though. The clutch was designed around 05+ hydrolics.

noyzee, check out that link. this is the clutch i have in my car. i was originally looking at LS7, and then ended up going with this. I know i dont make nearly the power that your z06 does, but a lot of people use this clutch and it feels like stock. its basically a textrailia clone for a lot less money. he sources the clutch assembly itself from the same OEM that makes them for textrailia.

do some searches for TDP clutches and you'll see a lot of positive comments for it.

ps. ive installed a few of these into f-bodys with great succes, but they are basic bolt on cars with street tires. maybe thats why. but i guess with 315 drag radials and a 125 shot it might be different.
clutch is for sale in the clasifieds. i will make a better deal for local pick up

If it was my car I'd do the Mcleod RXT with aluminum flywheel.

You have to measure the air gap between the slave and PP.90% of the time we do not use the spacer.

Take your time seating it in and you'll be all set.
