****VERY IMPORTANT LESSON HERE****
....ALWAYS REMEMBER!! DO NOT OPEN THE TRUNK!!!!! If a cop pulls you over and asks YOU to open the trunk and you do....well then you just opened the trunk for the cop. You politely hand him the keys and say "here you are officer" that way he has to show probable cause for searching your vehicle. Mind you had he opened it, it would have gone down the same way, but I have done this and had the cop REFUSE to open the trunk and just walk away grumbling.

don't wanna call you a liar but sounds like there is something missing from the story. he wouldn't waste his time and write everyone up for nothing. if he was undercover he probably watchjed you get out of the car etc. and return with beer to the car which would give him probable cause to search.

probable cause is the cop sat across the street watched this guy get out of a car full of minors registered to a minor(being your brothers car this is a guess) and watching him get back in the car with alcohol, idk about you but if i was a cop i would kind of think this dude is getting alcohol for his underage brother and friends and i'd prolly bust your ***** too lol. from what i understand from talking to other cops though if the liquor was sealed and in the trunk than they can't legally charge you and the courts will drop all charges. good luck

You dont even need a lawyer to fight this..... Did you ask you search your car and did you give permission if no well its over right there.... Also Friend brother Stranger that you just met it does not matter... If you bought it and they are closed in the car and you are there they can not say anything about it unless the minors were under the influance......

O and by the way make sure you tell them they wrongfully confiscated your alchol keep the reciept and i think you would get reimbursed for it. Deff if they had no right doing it Keep the receipt and get your money back from them, keep us posted i want to see how this turns out.

You need to dispute that....it's going to look ugly on your record. Like other people said, adults always bring children to pick up alcohol. If the people in your car wernt drunk and the alcohol was not in their possesion nevermind in the cabin of the car it's going to be a quick case and they'll throw it out. Just say you were on your way home and didnt want to drop off your friends to get drinks. Tell them you thought you were OK with the law since you see 10 year old kids sitting in cars waiting for their Dad to come out with alcohol and you never saw them get arrested.

State lawyers ask you how much you make a charge a % of that, tell them you 12.00 a hour and you'll have more than sufficent legal help to beat the case for a very small price.

i have a friend who knows a lawyer and hes going with us to the court hearing or whatver we get after pleading not guilty...were also considering suing the police department in which case he would be our lawyer and get 10% of whatever we win in the case...my brother was driving but the car is in my dads name...all the alcohol was sealed in the trunk and he was going to bring me back to my house where my other friends who are of age were meeting me. the cops basically assumed that we were all going to be drinking and charged us based on a hunch he had...i do still have the 93 dollar receipt and plan on attempting to get reimbursed

Good luck, there is a law, that if you are under 21, you can not have alchol in your vehicle period. Your brother is screwed, even though you are 21.

You will probably get off with a warning if you have never been arested before. You will not win a law suit against them.
