Default What to do in Baltimore?

Going to Baltimore for the week for training for work. Can anybody recommend some good places to go at night. It doesn't have to be just bars either, I'm up for anything that doesn't involve sitting in my hotel room all week. I'm staying in Hunt Valley BTW.

They have this are called powerhouse that is like 8 bars in one. They close early in Baltimore, I think 1 or 2. That was about it. It's kind of shady at night around there so I'd watch myself. I didn't have a great time in Baltimore when I went, but who knows everyone's different

Baltimore's probably not your scene, can be pretty rough around there at night, but to each his own.

Theres some bars there, for you I'd say got to federal hill instead of the powerhouse. Theres alot more people there with money instead of ghetto trash, its somewhat better.

Maybe the inner harbor...you could go to Hard Rock Cafe or Hooters or the ESPN Sportzone.

I always enjoy getting lost and walking through the alleys lol. stay where it is well lit and do not park your car down there. Inner harbor is pretty sweet(HOOTERS). you have ESPN zone and Hard ROck Cafe. It's not too bad around there except the occassional dead body found floating in the water.

There are some really nice places to eat and hang out right down the road(10min) from where you are staying, Padonia Station( York Rd & Padonia RD), The Pointin Still (Irish bar, nice place, York Rd. just south of Padonia Rd.), High Tops which is right across the street(York Rd.) from the Pointin Still. You dont have to worry about getting shot or robbed either, this is a nice area.

Fells Point, Canton, Federal Hill, Cross Street market are all cool places to hang out, but I would go with someone who knows the city so you dont end up in the wrong part of town. Here are the links......

Federal Hill or Fells Point are worth it for some bar adventures.

its power plant not powerhouse guys. fells point and canton are safe if you want to go down town for the bar scene. giddswat has mentioned some close places to where you will be staying. slightly further down york rd from The Still is a place called Michaels Cafe, they have really good crab cakes and food. I work 7min from where you will be PM me if you are looking for a spot to hang i could make some recomendations. if you like good food little italy is always a winner downtown.

Yeah I drove the Ion down in fear of scum potentially messing with the Camaro.

That Irish bar/restaurant sounds like a good time, I'll probably go check that out.

Is there a track near by with any open nights? Not that I'll be racing my 17 second ride but its always fun to watch.
Thanks for the advice guys!

My class is done at noon on Friday and then I'm headed to D.C. to hang out with a friend at his place for the weekend.

This sucks it couldn't be a week later I see theres gonna be a good time in Ocean City next weekend. It would have been worth it to drive down there for the weekend.

Baltimore has some cool stuff. Pretty sure the Orioles are home this week and they have a great stadium, inner harbor area has some cool stuff including some OK bars and clubs, and depending how young/old you are there are a pile of college campus' in the area to get in trouble at(I went to Towson)

BTW, where in upstate NY you from? I have family all over the southern tier and up by the Canadian border.

Yeah, I think me and a couple of the other guys might go see the Orioles on Wednesday. Turns out the hotel has an open bar from 5:30 - 7:30 . Which means I probably will taken advantage of that for at least a couple nights, so driving is out of the question after that, which blows because taxi fares are retarded expensive. Inner Harbor looks like fun as well.

I live in Norwood which is a small Village of Potsdam. I'm about 15-20 minutes from Massena which is right on the Canadian border.
