they are not speedos, they are the same on boats and sleds. they are dream o meeters!!!
my sled goes 130+ on the speedo, on spray id be lucky if it went 118-120 on its best day. lol
the gps son, toss one in the seat and run it up a few times, avrige your top speeds and thats it.
i bet the 1200 stock is 55-58 on gps 60 on its best day

i am going to look at a jet boat tonight. sugar sand....anybody hear of it? did some review and it is supposed to be top notch jet boat...any experience in here with them? i like them better than the seadoos because they have mercs in them and not the seadoo rotaxs that need rebuilds every season.

if your going to spend 20k on a boat, go for a real boat, something you can use. like this

http://www.offshoreonly.com/classifi...o28575-en.html

or this

http://www.offshoreonly.com/classifi...o28855-en.html

get something you can use, sleep on, get changed, spend the day and still have fun, the jet boats are fun for a quick rip, but to spend the coin on them and only be able to use them on a perfect day is a waist of time and money.

you can search around for some good boats. dan is selling his boat, its same as mine, 2005 with a trailer, but its a 24 foot instead of the 26. its in good shape, hes asking 28 or 25 for it, and its a sweet boat with room to sleep, takes the water nice etc etc

brad, im looking into the jetboats because i want something to zip around on my lake with. it is only about 300 acres so a boat like yours is out of the question...trust me that is what i want though. our lake is shallow in areas so i like the jet boat because it drafts really shallow and handles good. i just wanna have some fun and go out with friends. i will def. take it out other places too..maybe up to meet you guys if it is an easy enough ride. its nowhere near 20k...good deal i came across and happen to be looking for one. in a few years i will be in the market for a big boat when i know a little more about what i am doing and have the resources and a truck to tow one. craigslist has some good deals too....what is the best way to go with those big boats, you seem to like the bajas?

see thats the thing those 96 xp's r so sweet but out of my price range if i want a decent one. i was looking to spend between $800-$1000 honestly i just want something that is reliable and will last the season maybe 2 without any major work. idc what it looks like, or if it is super fast, or if its a 2 seater or 3 seater. just somehing i wont have to throw any big money into and something that wont die on me in the middle of the merrimac river lol

I will never touch another seadoo. Had a twin rotax jet boat. It was a blast but seadoo/bombardier does not stock parts after 10 model years. The dealers dont eveen have the parts microfiches any more. F bombardier -- buy polaris, or yamaha. I will never buy anything from bombardier again. Who would think you might need parts for a 10 yr old 2 stroke?

just bought a sugar sand jet boat. has a 175 merc jet drive in it. it moves really well compared to another twin rotax seadoo that i drove. i will post pics and let you know how i make out. another reason i went with this is because you can get parts for the merc anywhere

chris, i like Baja, checkmate, donzi, fountain, formula, active thunder, pentera, sutphen, i could go for days.
easiest one to find would be a baja, reason i didnt get a baja was to be a little diffrent. you see bajas all over, now i love them and would buy one if time/price was right etc, but i went with the mate to be diffrent.

let me know when you want a boat, i'll find one for you

Nice. hit me up bubba!!! we are going out this weekend.
weather pending i will be going to Mysery island ( you can drop in salem and be out there in 15 min, no prob with just about any size boat)
or i might to winggi which theres a few options to launch (no way you would want to make the trip from where i come out of all the way, you would want to meet us up that way. its about 2.5 hours or so if the water is ok)
you can drop right in the river and follow us you cant go fast tho for about 30 min, or you could drop in the essex river and rip threw it!!
let me know when you want to meet up.
i pulled my boat yesterday to wash it, and wax it again

well i went and looked at the 1996 seadoo GTI 720 today. thing was pretty mint to me (but i kno jack ****) impeller didnt have many nicks or scratches (if any), motor mounts were solid, thing startes right up and had good throttle. i didnt get to do a compression test, and the guy had the thing out there and ready so i dn if he had the thing running b4 to get it to start right away. the hull looked good not a lot of scratches or nicks and nothing deep at all. the only thing was the steering. now how "tight" or "loose" should the steering be? it seemed pretty loose except when u turned it hard right u could feel a bit of resistance, but no resistance if u turned it to the left. he said it might need new or cleaned carbs and plugs and fresh gas. it has seen salt water, it has been always garaged kept. he asking $1200 but said he'd take $1100 a lil out of my price range but i dn

so what do u guys think? should i try to do a compression test and ask for a test drive? anything else i should/can do? gimme any info/opinion u can!

also ima try to arrange a meet up time to drive 2 hours north and look at that polaris this or next week, he said he'd take $950 for that one, but he said the guage cluster dosent work and there r chips in the gelcoat. the seadoo is only 20 min from my house the polaris is a good 2 hours so i want to make sure i kno what to look for when i go look at that one. should i not even bother since the guage cluser is busted? or is that not a big deal?

thx again guys tony

Edit: oh also how hard is it and how expensive is it to swap or clean the carbs on these? is it something i could prolly do on my own for not much $$? thx again

Cleaning carbs on skis is basically the same as cleaning any other carb, pretty easy. On my seadoo there is a VERY small fuel filter in the carb, make sure you clean that out well cause it'll ruin your day if it's not clean.

If you have ever had a carb apart it is the same concept on just about every carb...this will only be on a much smaller scale. If you have ever done a dirtbike or 4wheeler, they are wicked easy.
