Default So pissed

Well I finally got around to pulling the trans out of my car tonight after breaking it at the track last week. Trans came out smoothly not problems getting things apart.

Got a phone call from a buddy who's truck I did some tuning on that asked if I would scan his truck since he just got a check engine light on. So I got my lap top and HP tuners stuff out and downloaded my logs from last week and the track to take a look at them while I waited for him to show up. I started looking at my log from my 10.404@134.5mph pass. And I see this dip in my graphs where my MAP readings drop in about the middle of 4th gear. Start looking a little closer and see that my TPS readings dropped to 59%. And I start thinking back. The car was skating towards the middle of the track in 4th and I was correcting for it and I must have lifted some while trying to correct the car. I am sooooo Pissed. That probably would have been a 10.3x pass.

But anyway fixed my buddies truck and started taking my trans apart. Found that I broke 2 of the 3 3-4 syncor keys. That is why it wouldn't go in 3rd and got stuck in 4th.

Still need to pull the rest of the trans apart and look things over but it appears that it might not be that bad after all. should be back up and running in 2-3 weeks. gonna work on some weight reduction and clean up some wiring clutter while things are apart.

Hope to be back in action making some sub 10.3-10.2 passes soon

Oh yeah and I also saw on my logs that I am about to run out of gear. Gonna have to bump my rev limiter up and step up to a 28" tire soon too. Going thought the traps at 134mph turning 6500 rpm limiter is set at 6800

What's your gear ratio? I really need to get familiar with T56 internals instead of paying other people to do it. Good luck on the rebuild.

Dan, I'm convinced that if you bought a dyno and your own shop that you could start your own business with all the work/experience you have with LSx stuff!!

That idea has crossed my mind and really I would love to be doing that but the start up cost and getting the customer base is what would take some time to start.

I have already talked to Keith about tuning my car up there. And all I need to do is call and make sure the dyno is free in the evenings and weekends.

This has always been an idea floating in the back of my head starting my own buisness. I may have to look into it a little further. But anyways back on topic since I am not a sponser

I am pricing all my parts for the trans now. Hopefully I should have my new parts friday or saturday.

But I am loosing 2 and a half days due to having to go to New York for Training on Duramax Engines for work Monday and Tuesday so I have to leave Sunday to head up.

Headers are cake with a lift.... we had my buddy Andy's headers out in less than a half hour when we did his head swap last week, and that was including the time to get the car in the air, remove the ypipe etc.

Headers are pretty easy to yank in amd out. I think it is removing the stock exhaust that is more of a pain than removing headers. So much more room once you install headers and ditch all the Emissions crap from the car
