Dyno comparison between mine and a dynojet

I completely agree that numbers are just numbers, they're fun to look at but in the end who gives a crap? Numbers don't equal fun.
Again, like stated already, it's useful for diagnosing issues and good for showing gains from mods done. If a h/c car puts down 420 rwhp, it might sound weak, but if the week before it put down 310 rwhp, then that's a 110 rwhp gain from h/c, which is a pretty healthy increase.
A dyno is no different to me than a scale. I really don't care what it reads, but more importantly, what it reads today compared to previous weights.

Agree, but sometimes builders overestimate their # to the customer, such as cam and head swaps to justify the expense, when the numbers are not as expected the customer gets a little bit PO'd and the builder has to back peddle a little. Do good builders give within 3 or 5% of the gains?.
I would like to know going in whats realistic gains and B.S fantasyland #.
Its a tool for tuning, not for going rounds on it, how much money have you won dyno racing.......
Yesterday I went to Dez's to compare. Car was a customers Mild H/C 07 Z06.The car made 512hp/508tq on my dyno.At Dez's it made 528hp/519tq. So the difference was about 15hp/12-15tq across the whole power curve.
As you see my dyno is pretty close but expect alittle more power in the dyno graph going to a Dynojet.

I'm thinking this was Joe L's ZED6?

The motor has been bullet proof over the years, which also leads me to say that a safe tune is worth everything vs trying to squeeze out a few more hp.
People definitely get caught up in the numbers game ,when the only numbers that really matter are the ones on the slip, and the slip after that, and the slip after that...
May 2007 Dez Racing
531rwhp
440rwtq
...with catted mid pipes
April 2009 Slowhawk Performance
528rwhp
484rwtq
...with catless mid pipes
We saw a definite 13psi on your dyno.. if my math is correct, its about 17.5rwhp per lb of boost....
Too close to for me to tell when comparing... either way.. your dyno and dez's are almost dead nuts even! I like the load dyno better though!!!

or maybe its just this motor over the old one :X
