Hate to say it, but they're right, 8-9k highside. The reason, rust. Once something starts rusting you know you've got to get to it quickly. I tried to sell the monte, have all teh reciepts for the lq9 swap, 4l80e, rebuild of engine, the new interior, rims tires, adn a laundry list more, best offer was 7k. I've got about 28k into it, and was asking half that. The reason being is that not a whole lot of people have extra funds to buy a toy right now, most are looking for something that is daily driver material.

unfortunately as you know we only get back pennies on the dollar for mods-having said that the guy that said KBB or NADA doesn't have a clue about valuations of customized high performance vehicles - as you know, just like real estate or anything else, it's worth as far as selling it what someone is willing to pay. IMHO I;d guess anywhere from 12k-15k based on condition of exterior paint, interior and the myriad of other variables that increase or decrease value.
If I were selling I;d start with an sking price on the high side with hope to find an enthusiast that realizes the time and money it would take to build a car like yours, of course the aweful economy doesn't help. I'd find local car shows and/or racing events and park it up front as close to gate4 as possible - this is where you'd get the exposure you;re looking for. E-bay you will not get as high of a price as selling privately or even via consignment at a high profile reputable used car dealer, Their 10% could be worth it imho, just tell them they are not exclusive and you reserve the right to sell privately. Beautiful car btw- good luck if you decide to sell even though I am sure you will regret it. If you are not in a financial hardship situation Id also think about keeping it and pass it down to a loved one in your will The ultimate gift and I;m sure it would be cherished more than selling to a pivate party in which you have no relationship with.

LMAO .....
that is the most innacurate response I've ever read in a long time-(please dont take my response to your post personal as that it is not my agenda to be disrespectful or to insult you personally. I do not profess to be LS1 guru by any means whatsoever; However I have ALOT of firsthand personal experience buying and selling a wide range (as low as $3k to as much as $40K for a SEMA Mustang who's KBB was less than $10k) this myriad of modded cars ranged from mild (bolt on only) to wild - (fully forged / stroked / forced induction) etc. I am constantly seeking guidance on this forum as I;'m pretty much always involved in upgrading my cars from the day I buy them - this is one of my favorite hobbies (2nd to deep sea fishing) and have even been called out & insulted by members for being ignorant even though I'm admitting ignorance via asking questions about subjects I am not 100% expert and want to ensure best effort results, and trying to learn something via posting questions on various parts of project in the appropriate sections - throw your KBB in the trash when it comes to highly modified cars make ....not saying anything near ROI is to be expected (we all wish this was the case) but your 100% wrong -

PS.....if you ever sink 10-20k into your car with a new engine/tranny etc and are willing to sell for KBB please call me I will buy it from you for KBB or NADA - LOL

oh and to answer question on value - my guesstimate would be around $15k+/- based on undermentioned variables - imho this is exactly why built cars are worth keeping or at least keeping in the family and selling for cheap or as a gift to a close relative (ie son / next of kin (family member that would respect & cherish it and more importantly - keeping it up and continuing to enhance and improve as appropriate - literally like a family heirloom :-)
