Buddy posted this on another site.

During the past couple of weeks we in the Tech Department have seen many cars running too fast without the proper safety equipment. At this time, we would like to advise the following categories.

10.5 Outlaw Series:
During the past weekend of competition, with the new breakout rule in effect, it was noticed that many of the 11.50 racers were running under the 11.49 mark without the proper safety equipment. In order to run safely at this E.T., the proper safety equipment must be installed. Such items as a roll bar, SFI approved seat belts, drive shaft loop. We will not tolerate cars running quicker than 11.49 without the proper equipment. All cars that do not follow the E.T. requirements per the IHRA rulebook or the New England Dragway handbook will not be allowed to compete. If any car runs quicker than 11.49 in qualifying will be given one warning. Any car in competition that runs 11.49 or quicker that may win that round or be involved in a double breakout will be disqualified. Multiple infractions will result in suspension from all competition until proper safety equipment is installed.

Jr. Dragsters:
In the test and tune sessions that have taken place to date, we have issued many warnings in regards to E.T.’s and MPH’s. We are asking all Junior competitors and parents to please make sure that you have your cars running in the E.T. period that you are licensed for. Per the IHRA rulebook, one warning will be issued for all cars running quicker than 7.80 or 85 MPH. Any subsequent violations on that particular day will result in disqualification. Any car that runs quicker than 7.70 for an E.T. will be disqualified immediately and will also have their IHRA Competition License suspended for six (6) months. We ask that you all please review your cars and the rulebook for all other safety requirements.

We in tech are not there to make things difficult for the racers. We are simply looking out for the safety of you, the person in the other lane and the spectators and track officials. To all racers, please review both the IHRA rulebook and the NED Handbook for all the safety requirements or specific class that you may be involved with.

Thank you all in advance for your cooperation and we look forward to a safe and fun filled 2010 racing season!
