Last night at atco after running mid to low .50s finally hit the bump 11.49 rollbar territory on the last pass, took advantage as we all do this time of year of the cold air. It was a fun night watching everyone get new bests also.
1.57 60ft 11.49@117.29 Now do I stop or put a real cam and rollbar in it next year and try to go faster!

[QUOTE=stumprrp;14151467]thats fast, whats the race weight?[/QUOT
Thanx guys....last time i weighed the car at englishtown a few years ago it weighed 3648 with me in it, only weight reductions are removed sway bar and skinnies and seats removed. Race weight was probably closer to 3590 on the 11.49 pass.

I would say enjoy the car, the only time I ever see you run it is when its a LOW DA and if your at roll bar time, then thats a big decision.
Also that trans should be on borrowed time once you put some power to it so just anticipate a rebuild and if you want to stick with the 4L60e, just go with a good sponsor. Once again, put a cam in it, start expecting things to break. Not taking weight out will be the doom of your stock driveline.
Just take it from someone who has spent way to much for underwhelming results and over building to avoid future damage. Your at a threshold.
Congratz none the less, maybe you can get it down a little more before the end of the year.

Thanx for the advice, as it is probably the best most realistic thing to do, stop now and enjoy what I have. But I do run the car all the time even in the summer when it runs 11.80-11.90s and I am just as happy since we all know the DA makes a huge difference. It's just nice to feel fast this time of year and post new bests like everyone else does. I have always been satisfied and realistic in how well my car performs in any weather and conditions.
As for the tranny on borrowed time you are right, after all the passes I have on the car in the 5yrs. I have been racing I know I have been very lucky. The car bang for the buck has been the best car I will ever own. Hopefully I will just enjoy it on weekends and cruise in the summer with the t-tops off......but unfortunately this racing and wanting to go faster is like a drug very addicting.

No shame in that dude, a solid mid 11 second pleasure cruiser can be quite fun,
no need to take it past that point of no return.
Congrats on the times, your car runs real good for what it has. One thing to keep in mind is that once you put a bar in it your stuck with it and every street car I have ever owned that had a bar in it I regreted it later on.
If I were you I would send the heads to these guys and call it a day. That way you could run 11.50s in the heat all summer and make some illegal (cheater ) passes in the fall.

When you make stockish power, you tend to be able to do many things but once you add 50-90 more HP to the rear, then that tends to change things and increase the chance of needing rebuilds or swapping in different converter and gears to compliment.
