Default MD emissions heads up

Car passed emissions this morning. They checked for cats and plugged the
car into the OBDII port. No codes = pass.

I have 09 G8 with a cam and headers.

Yeah, and some counties don't have any emissions requirements, like Kent and Dorchester county.

That why I gave up on my 1994z28 383 car, the Emissions and cam needed was too much. It got to the point that I might as well have 2 motors and every 2 years do a complete swap just to pass emissions.

Up here in Ma, any car 96 and older doesn't get tested. The newer cars get the cat inspection and computer readiness test.

Doesn't CT exempt cars ?? I had a 406 small block in my 86 MC SS that I was able to get an exemption for because the block was a 1970 block.

yeah exactly what I don't want to do...
any general consensus from anyone on what size cam is too large to pass an idle test....? I've read others saying 224/224 is about it

I know that with my friends old honda and WHEN they had the rollers. He would just lower it to within a inch or so of the ground in the frotn and since they couldnt get it ONTO the rollers they couldnt fail him. He didnt PASS but was able to get his registration stickers.

Sounds about right... my car passed with long tubes, no cats, big cam, roll cage, race seat, etc... no problems with inspection or emissions.

Be careful though... VA is doing roadside tests that will make you come back for a tailpipe sniffer (yes even OBD-II cars) if you fail when one of their "roadside survey" trucks picks you up.

Dont worry, many other states are doing it... you may just not know about it.

VA seems ok to me... easy to pass inspections, lower vehicle tax, no emissions in most counties, etc. If anything MD is anti small business with their crazy taxes, but thats another discussion. MD has way more speed camera's then VA as well.

Either way, once the OBD-III standards go into place we're all screwed, haha.

Im alittle leary about taking my bird. I got an extention until june. They picked over my civic(daily Driver) pretty bad because it has an exhuast(the stocker was rotted off when i picked it up). My bird doesnt even have tail pipes which is a concern, No codes though. Ive gotta a magnaflow setup off my buddys camaro laying around think i should just bolt it up there?
