Well they are very rare, but BRIEN was correct it is NOT A REAL WS6 FORMULA
Its a clone (I CHECKED THE VIN), mis-represented by Thompson BMW on Ebay, I cant give them 12K for a hartop formula even though its a nice car its nothing more than a hood, airbox. It also has GU2 which is a 2.73 gear car....I will offer them 10K which I still think is a fair price for such a nice car :o)

Sorry to hear I was right, but after seeing no badge on the back, different wheels, and different location of the stickers on the hood, it just screamed as a clone.

I'm near Thompson BMW, maybe I'll cruise by and check it out.

I agree, great car for $10k, but not quite as strong of a deal for any more than that.

If that car is a close, I'd offer them 9 for it and no more. They're trying to lawn it off as something it's NOT, that to me is dishonest business.....

Get a look underneath it too. Get them to put it up on a lift so you can see it, and make sure the BMW asshat's don't screw the front 1/4's up when they do it. That will tell you 10 times more about the actual condition of the car. Get pictures while it's on the lift too.. and put them up on here. Don't buy it the first day you go look at it.... just go look, and demand it be put on the lift so you can see the undercarriage.

Last time I checked RPO codes tell you if its a WS.6 Formula, not a VIN. So it sucks but it is what it is.

VIN will trace that back. With the VIN you can tell anything you want about the car.

Mmhmm I wonder what database has that, where the VIN will list the RPO code for the car. I think I have heard of a site but I do not recall which.

I can run a VIN through GM and it will pull the build and RPO list for me. It will even tell me the date it was sold new, by what dealer and what was done to it under warrenty

I know its not real, they just advertised it very slick but didnt try to lie
The car is not as nice as the pics, fitment (car was tapped) but no accident report

Its not bad, paint is alittle buggered up on the bumpers, bad job done
Otherwise its nice mechanically, I offered them 8K its on Ebay and its up to 6600

They will NEVER get even close to 10K for this car
Its a 55K mile F-Car and its in decent shape, I would buy it for 8K

We will see

So they didn't take the 8k? I think 8K is even generous considering it doesn't have the t-tops or leather interior, which to most people, are desirable options.

So at this point, it's a mechanically stock, decent mileage formula with aftermarket hood and has been repainted questionably. Hmmm.

I was going to tell you to check the door codes and make sure it was a real WS6 because a real WS6 formula wouldn't have a SLP badge where the WS6 badge is supposed to be. Also that exhaust is a SLP exhaust which is aftermarket because on WS6 formulas came with just the upgraded muffler and tips not the dual dual which came on Firehawks and some optioned SS's. I hate clones even though that is a good looking car!

Bottom line its becoming hard to find cleaner 4th Gen cars and there in lies maybe some inherent value.

I know you guys know the market a lot better than I do but I have to respectfully disagree. Look around, this isn't 2003 anymore. The local hangouts aren't flooded with clean LS1s anymore. I see tons of them ragged out, bad paint, dents, just ragged looking. I think the remaining clean 4th gen LS1s will hold value just like fox bodies. Throw into that the car does have some appearance mods but doesn't appear to be beaten to death and I think you have a car that will fetch decent coin.

Like anything its finding the right *** for the seat. Also you gotta look at the market, there are people looking for a specific type of car, this might appeal. Also there are the low ballers who don't car about kicking people in the ***** on a car.

I do think being slick about the advertisement on the car is not a good thing. Being honest will be the best policy as you have nothing to hide.
