Fabricators in maryland
Does anyone either do fabrication his/herself (and is good at it) or have a recommendation for a fabricator around Ashton/Silver Spring, MD?
I need to start getting the mounts figured out and made for the swap I'm doing.
Thanks
Thanks for the recommendations, cookba.
itsslow98, I'm putting an LS1/T56 into an 01 Lincoln LS (V8 auto, bought for cheap with a locked engine -- metal fragments in the oil pan).
Frans96SS, I think the only things I need are the mounts and then a custom driveshaft. The mounts on the k-member are:

I was just going to use those (maybe get some new ones) and have something similar to the LS AJV8 brackets (couldn't find a picture of these) made but offset for the LS1. My main concern is mounting it properly so the driveshaft can be balanced properly.
I did some measurements today on the oil pan (I have a GTO front sump pan) and that didn't look too good as it seems I'd have to mount the engine about 3 inches forward to get it to clear the steering rack and k-member. I then saw the GM Muscle Car oil pan, but apparently that's rear sump. I might be able to push the engine back far enough (which would probably be good so the shifter will fit) to fit the sump behind the rack, but I'm dubious about the bellhousing or intake being able to go back that far.
It's a rare swap (only one I know of and I haven't been able to get in touch with him), so I'm sure there will probably be a few headaches.
