Default Shipping?

What is the cheapest way to ship a Transmission? Anyone know of a good store near Frederick, MD that does shipping? FedEx and UPS are trying to charge around 600 to ship my TH400 to TX. I shipped a T56 like 5 years ago and it was only like 175 dollars if I remember correctly, but that shipping store went out of business. Thanks guys for the help.

I was going to say you need straight freight shipping. if you have friends who do that stuff or a location, it makes all the diff.

you need to strap it to a small pallet and bring it to a depot, Roadway, yellow freight, etc and ship from there and make sure your shipping to a business also or it will be more expensive, and shipping anything to tx is expensive..lol

I used DHL when I shipped my t-56 to Six speeds INC. back in 2006. If memory serves me, it was around $100.

I used a big rubber maid container, wrapped the trans in a heavy duty back, then emptied like 3-4 cans of expanding foam in around the transmission.
