First Trailer Purchuse?
im thinking about buying a all aluminum 18ft open trailer. What do you guys think? Keep in mind all I have right now to tow with is a 4 door f-150 with the 5.4 liter. I travel to beech bend every year and take a trip to cecil/atco/MIR every year as well from north of boston.
Another Thought, could my truck handle a enclosed trailer? If so I would much rather go that route.

I pulled my heavy 18ft steel trailer behind my 1500 Silverado for 3 years with no issue. The longest trip I hauled with it was about 4 hours of driving. An aluminum trailer would have been great cause I bet it would have been several hundred pounds less if not close to 1000 pounds lighter.
Also cost is a huge difference in trailers I know it was almost $2000 difference in price from an aluminum to steel trailer.
I do know of a former co worker that pulls his 67 nova around in a feather weight enclosed trailer behind a 1500 Chevy
I know personally I wouldnt have wanted to pull more weight than my trailer is with the car behind my old 1500. Knowing that was at least 5000 lbs if not more.
I would see if you can find someone that has something you are considering buying and give it a test tow with weight
