TIG Welder
TIG Welder Sup guys,
We're Looking for someone with a TIG welder who can help our school's race team. We need a few quick TIG welds in places we can't fit a MIG head into. Also looking to weld a 90* bend onto the outlet of an aluminum turbo. We can buy the material needed for the machine if necessary. I'm trying to push buying a TIG for our shop, but it does not look like it will happen anytime soon as we already surpassed the budget.

You can turn the MIG machine to pulse get a short thin nozzle cut off the top of that nozzle maybe an inch set the trim to .98... let the contact tip stick out and blast gas. There are long neck MIG guns also if thats the problem they are more flexible then tig lol. Not trying to be a dick but I weld in tight spaces with mig all day at work. Give me a picture of what your doing so I know what you are dealing with.

Ya pulse should get in there allows a lot of stick out. Also if you buy like a flux core wire that you don't need gas for you can run a straight contact tip with no nozzles.. just be careful not to touch the contact tip to the sides because it will ground out:p.

Sickness - I told our main welder dudes and they said it wouldn't be possible as our MIG doesn't have pulse. They pretty much decided MIGing just the outside of the tabs and it should be fine.
NHRA - We're by Jersey City. That'd be way too far for you lol. Depending on how things go, I may take you up on coming down to Baltimore. Right now I have a silicone elbow I'll try out on the compressor outlet and see if it'll pop off. Thanks for offering.
