Benefit Car Show in MD Hey everyone this is the run down on the show this saturday if any locals are out there and have some free time to help out a great cause this is it!!!
To honor our late friend, son and community member, we have set up a memorial scholarship in Matt's name at Montgomery College.
We would like to announce the Matt Williquette Car Meet (MJW FEST) on August 3rd from 9am-4pm at Whalen Commons Park
(19701 Fisher Ave., Poolesville, MD, 20837).
The goal for this event is to raise money for Matt's scholarship fund at MC and to get together with friends and family to celebrate the life of a wonderful person.
Bands: Smoke n' Mangos & Sam Cooper & The SleepWalkers
Food: Smokin Ray & Cafe Jefe's Java Cruiser, LLC (20% of their sales will be donated to the scholarship
T-shirts: Provided by Mike Cross at McSteez ($10/each - all money will be donated back to the scholarship)
Admission is FREE for all spectators
If you would like to enter your car, we can charging a $5 cover. All money will be donated to the scholarship. We will have a peer vote to decide "Best of Show"! We are asking that for all those who would like to show to come out at 8:30am for registration purposes.
***IMPORTANT*** for everyone who plans to attend the car show on August 3, here are some important parking instructions.
SPECTATOR LOTS: Poolesville Elementary School parking lot, Dr. Dillingham Park (Skate Park) and grassy area in front of lot and Shelby’s parking lot. If you live close enough, please walk
SHOW CARS: We have 40-50 spots available on the grass at Whalen Commons (first-come, first-serve for these spots). Cars that planning on showing can also park on the parking lots right next to the commons (we have 40 spaces there). If we need spill over parking for show cars we will put them at Shelby's parking lot.
If you plan to show, please try to come early. Registration starts at 8:30am. We will have people at each designated parking areas to help you park. Please come to the registration table to get a fill out a registration card that will be placed in a visible spot on your dashboard.
It is $5 to show your car. We will have a peer vote for "Best in Show." Voting will commence from noon-3pm. We will announce the winner at 3:45pm. The overall winner will receive a sweet MJW Fest plaque!

Silent auction tables will be set up! All money raised for the silent auction will be donated to the scholarship!
We will be hosting corn hole tournament from 11am-2pm. We will have some great prizes to the winning teams!
