Default PA inspection

I just purchased a 2002 z06 with all the lights in the rear blacked out. I wasnt aware that it was such a big deal here in PA. I have taken to a few shops and they wont pass it because of this issue. I live in Allentown. Has anyone else had this issue? Is this really that big of a deal? Are there any shops around here that would over look this issue?

it isnt the shops call...its up to the indivisual inspector. its illegal, no way around it unless you know and go to a shop on a reguler basis, they may over look it for you. unfotunetly shops dont know you from Adam and think you could be an undercover from the state so they wont risk it. i would just keep lookin and eventually someone will probably not care and just let it slide.

Inspection is such a crock of ****. I don't even understand, you could literally put the stock lights in and swap in the parking lot after you get inspected. Might as well just have a flat car tax. You just have to find someone that doesn't care or swap it out.

For "car guys" inspections suck, but I think that in the grand scheme of things they are a good thing. To the plebian masses, the only time their car ever sees service is when it goes in for inspection. Nothing like having a bunch of lemmings running around with cars that can't stop because they don't take care of their vehicles on their own accord (just take a drive through Ohio -- no inspections = POS cars all over).

EXACTLY. you'd be suprised if you knew what type of condition some of these cars are in that are on the same road as you. its scary some of the **** i see come through my shop. sad part is, 95% of the people driving them have no clue untill they come in for inspection. brakes nearly metal to metal...struts leaking...control arm bushings falling out of the car...its madness. i cant even imagine lilving in a state that doesnt have inspection...id be afraid to drive around.
