Back in the LS1 game....again :-) Steph needed a new daily driver so last Saturday we picked up a:
2004 Pontiac GTO
Impulse blue/blue leather
automatic, all the options every GTO comes with
A BIG thanks goes out to Jay Fisher Pontiac in Elmer NJ for finding me the 'exact' car I wanted. It seems the impulse blue with an auto is somewhat hard to find right now for whatever reason, but he found me a car and got the deal done quickly for us.
I called him earlier last week and told him what I wanted, then he made some calls and made it happen. Fortunately everything came together so as of 10:30am last Saturday we were the proud owners of a new GTO.
I have bashed these cars in the past. Let me tell you, they are great cars. They are extremely comfortable and fun to drive, power is there, they handle and brake, the radio is nice, the whole car kicks ***. This will be Steph's daily driver and I don't think their is a better daily driver out there for the money with this sort of combination of performance, looks, comfort etc.
I will try to get some pics of it online soon.

You are unbelievable. That car is a DD??? What about rain and snow??? I got my wife a 4x4 for a DD and we keep the Hawk for pleasure. How does the car compare stock for stock against the Formula??? Good Luck guys. When is the wedding????

They do come with traction control and all season tires and if things get real bad she still might have her Hyundai around to help out.

We've been married for 6 weeks.
The Formula had more of an edge to it. In a pure race situation the Formula handled better, but in real world driving the GTO is much easier to drive hard because mid-turn bumps don't send the rear out. The GTO has a fair amount of body roll though, which is expected in a 3700 lb car that does ride fairly well. I absolutely love the car.
We may end up keeping a '91 Lumina we basically inherited, just for the winter. We'll see....We are looking to move south, so I don't anticipate much of a weather problem after this winter....
We totally love the car, its so comfy, such an awesome comfortable driver....
