Valve spring & retainer ? Don?

A friend gave me a set of comp 918 blue stripe springs & titanium retainers that were on his car for less than 6 mo & <3K.

They are still on the heads and I need to remove them. I have a valve spring compression tool. The type that clamps on over the valve and you turn a water faucet style handle untill the spring is pulled up. My problem is I can't seem to get the keepers loose. What am I doing wrong.

Got it. I just needed the right assisting tool.

yeah wack the retainers a few times with a plastic hammer.. that will loosen the keepers..

That's what I did. I have 1 head done and will do the other tomorrow.
