You can run both @ 9psi with intercooler and safe tuning. They both have **** pistons, and I havent heard of a stock crank walking yet, so the main dont really matter for "stock block" power levels. Opti isnt a real big deal, but it is a weakness. LS1 just starts off 40-50rwhp higher. It would take an LT1 a slew of bolt-ons to make that up.

9 lbs every day will not last on an lt1 I have seen it many times. Ls1's will handle 9lbs for years. You also keep passing the opti off as no big deal but it is it is extra money and a hastle and the worst thing gm ever made I hate that opti!

Dont be hatin'! Opti wasnt an issue for me, maybe a high mile car it is.

My car had 47k on it... opti = junk also at least 3 others that I knew were around 70k and those were personal stories not the internet stories.

Although my engine bay was cleaner then yours and well it ran faster I would never put any water anywhere near that car **** I was afraid to drive it in the rain! Gay *** OPTI!!!

Aren't there replacements for the optispark?

I am on 120k miles of the stock opti and have gotten it wet a few times and have never had a problem to date. [Knocks on wood]

I'm going on personal experience and poeple I know some do get lucky. Have you owned your car since new? Or knew the original owner?
