A guy I worked with at the Sheriff's Department laid out his uniform on his bed, called the Paramedics and when they arrived- he blew his brains out with his Glock.

Sorry to hear that. Did you have any idea he was headed in that direction? Sometimes it's a total surprise but a lot of the time people drop hints that things are going very wrong.

Wow.
That sucks. I'm also curious to see if he was visibly depressed at all...
I don't have much respect for people that take their own lives, but was he a good dude when he was alive?

He was a great, hard-working Army Veteran who had both a full time Deputy job and was also a part-time Police Officer for the past 15 years.. never gave any indication as far as I knew..

Thats a shame, im sorry to hear that bob,. back in march a guy i knew went through with something similar, he was going through a divorce... the day came around for court date for the divorce and he did not show up. the judge called his parents house where he was staying, right after he picked the phone up and heard it was the judge he went to his dresser draw and pulled a gun out and ended it, in front of his parents. he was only 31 years old and had 2 young kids. its really just a damn shame and makes me sad.

Last sunday a family friend took his own life to. I also have no repsect for people who do that because that is a coward thing to do. This kid was an 18year old who had a good job and a 11month old baby. I dont kn ow the whole story but there is always 2 sides to the story. The hardest part is when u watch the family suffering people who think about doing that need to think about what they will put there familys through.

His Mom was sick, and he had a Brother that was mentally handicaped, and he was the sole bread-winner for the family. The Union(s) paid for the entire Funeral.
I'm still in disbelief..

Sorry to hear that bob. My grandfather did that... about 7 years after my grandmother died.. he was mad depressed for the entire time, but noone thought taht he was gonna do that. Scary thign is that my aunt's husband.. did the same thign, the the same room in the same damn house... scary ****.
Good friend of mine in high school did that too.. made a real mess of alot of people.. and noone saw that coming at all.. still to this day don't understand why... saw the kid about 3 hours before and was laughing with a a bunch of people... so who knows what made him do it.
That kind of thing is never good.... I feel for ya on this one.
