Or just loan it to me. I'll open the cut-outs and drive it all summer. I think my Christine'd enjoy being a spoiled trailer-queen for a while

Do up the 72 no doubt! There is nothing more fun than hot rod pick up trucks! True you may not be as fast, but the fun factor takes it! Especially when you whoop some one in thier porche or BMW or Mercedees. Do it do it do it! And you could still pull your bike or other toys with it.

Seeing a 72 witha modern power plant and tranny is cool as hell. Sell your crate motor, some one will want that easy!

it would be even cooler to do the 72 with a mild HC set up (420-450 rwhp) and a 125 dry shot, and woop on lightnings!!!
hmmm/.

You should know better Noyzee....thats a rookie mistake! Don't forget you got to get her to hook too. I'm still waiting for your chump buddies to race me in the "Lightning Killer" hahahaha. I don't doubt that you could build one, but it ain't as easy as heads cam and squeeze.

there truck has no game, if i did an ls1 in my truck, with no problem it would go at bare minimum 12.5 or faster.
it would put down 420-450 at the wheels, then 550-600 on spray, and weigh in at 4000 pounds and hooking would be easy because i would run real tires not your sissy Neato Nittos.
and i could build most of the motor with my spare parts.lol

Noyzee I second the snowmobile thing too!!!. With a little investment you can have the sled running quicker than your car with less fuss. My stock Zrt 800 making 74 track hp, ran a best of 10.50's at 122.5mph and that was back in 98/99. **** we had a 800cc yahmaha back in 97 run 9.17 at 139.8.

Now throw the bottle on it and you have an easy low 9's for about 10,000 bucks. Or put a Prostock sled together spray it and Low 8's/160+ could be in your future.

Then you can use the damm thing 10 months out of the yr, change the thing back over to trail and enjoy. Or better yet pick the thing and start Lake Racing. The sled I drive runs 5.4 at 122 in 660ft Fasest Ive seen has been a 4.9 at 132 .

Later John

I'm tellin' ya Brad....do the 72...like you said, it could be done with spare parts, and ya, with the weight advantage, it wouldn't take much to be running quicker than me. Don't you worry, I do have some big boy tires in my garage. I have the MT ET streets in 26" and Hoosier QTP's in 28X12.5's. She'll hook this summer. I just did some nice traction/lift bars too. Now to bite the bullet and do the QA-1's.

Sleds are more fun in the snow. You wanna race a sled...try snow cross. In the winter I ride snow-x. It's all out ***** to the wall crazy.Last year Vinny from OCC jumped over me on this one jump.He hit it on a differnt angle and when I landed I see a ski come across my handle bars. Snow is a blast. As much fun as you have on your 4wheeler you will have even more fun on a sled. I didn't think so till I got a sno-X sled and started hitting crazy jumps and racing across fields and racing handle bar to handle bar fighting in the turns....etc. I could go on for ever. Get a sled

I've raced sleds on water, grass and snow... but no asphalt - YET! They are a TON of fun in the winter. Sno-X is definately a good time, but you need to be in shape. I raced a few times last year and by the last lap my legs were burning so bad I thought I was gong to cry. Beating them on the trail, across the lake or in the air is a BLAST. Just by a Ski-Doo
