i think im going to go ls2 402 but im not 100% sure. im going to do more reserch.
but either way, she's getting more juice!

reason for wanting a new block is, the one i have in the one from my car new its had 500-600-700 rwhp thrown threw it, its been apart 5 times, the heads have been swapped ect ect. tranny in and out. i can see all the bolt holes getting worn. its time to retire it into a mild built motor for street use.
anyone want to buy it?
i know that feeling, my old block was the same way, its in a na car now an doing fine but its only 400ish hp now. I couldnt see getting another little block when i had the chance to go 408. I know what you mean.

yhea, and i can get a pretty good deal on the ls2 stuff.
im still up in the air, but ive already started ripping the wiring out, and i have lots of work to do!!!
i should have my mind made up and start ordering parts for the motor by the first of the year.
my rear is comming apart soon, my tranny is going out as well as my heads to get freshend up.
should be pretty sweet.

The iron blocks are alot cheaper and they can handle more abuse.Of course weight is the issue with them.402's are good but I would really trust a big shot on one.Just got a price on a 402 with the best of everything and they end up being around $6k.With us doing the iron in house it will be around $5k.
Either way we will have a spare shortblock, expecially when running 20+lbs of boost

So you fell over just like I did when adding up the parts

If I was you,a spare LS6 block will be good to have already machine for a quick switch. This year we had 3 of those blocks litterally crack the cyl. liners top to bottom.Funny thing is it didn't hurt the piston(stock) on2 of them

no ****, im looking at the other guys running them and seem to work well

i hate being the test dumbie on new part. but cant seem to find anyone running lots of spray on an ls2.
i would think if my stock ls1 block would take it, the ls2 would have no issue.

as for price. 2k just for the crank i want. great googly mooggly!
