Alternator question
The flickering was minute, but there.
The flickering does not change rhythm when the engine speed is increased or decreased.
I've "lived" with it but lately is seems more noticeable, even when the headlights are on you can seem them "pulsing" on the street & if I do not start the car after 3 days or so the new battery bought in July that has NEVER given me a problem goes dead.
Do you guys think the regulator in my alternator is bad & not charging the battery enough & letting more AC into the battery that it should have?
If you all think it's the alternator that needs replacing, what minimum amp rating & brand should I buy?
The search for alternator here was very weak as there were no problems fitting the description of mine & there is no electrical section here, unless I'm blind.
Thanks
I would point towards the aftermarket alarm install first since that ties into the light's ect. Then check the battery grounds/connections. I doubt the battery is bad (might be) just something is drawing juice----maybe headlight motor? Yeah, I forgot to mention that part.
The alternator is probably original AFAIK & the car just turned 79K miles.
Don, the alarm is a Viper 790 which I had in my GTP & it never killed the battery while in that car.
The only reason I got the new battery in July was because after a year of owning the car with the old battery, it finally met it's end of life expectancy & needed replacing.
The passenger headlight motor does appear dead as I have to manually raise & lower it.
I don't know if it's a bad motor or the plastic gear since it's now a bit too chilly to be working outside troubleshooting.
What made you think headlight motor?
