Default Bought a Supra Turbo

Still feels like a jap car no matter how ya cut it. It MOVES... it was somewhat impulse online purchase (55k orig miles)... considering I never sat in one...It was a boat load of $ for a 2nd weekend car. We'll see how she does. Needed something since Im not changing my twin rear set-up this winter... I gotta at least run it for a season...

I gotta say I hate the syntax and lack of understanding I have about these cars. Im like a caveman looking at a computer.

Anyone ever see that t-shirt with the Supra dyno graph that goes up then does a loop down then goes straight back up again and it says "Supra : Wanna race from a roll?"

Nice purchase though.

The old turbo ones (87-92) look alot like a lotus though. Take off the Toyota badges and alot of people mistake it for a hi-end european car. before i bought my car i was looking at 87-92 supras, along with camaros and trans ams. Good cars except they always blow their headgaskets. There is no question...they all do it sooner or later.

Wow,,I expected to get flamed!!!

Heres a copy of the for sale post..link cant be seen by most due to membership issues:

SP71GTQ w/ built motor...700 rwhp
1994 Toyota Supra Turbo. White w/ black leather interior and targa top.

This car only has 58,000 original miles on it and has a fully built motor. Do not confuse this car with other cars which have over 100,000 miles and just a fresh factory short block and a single turbo kit. This is an excellent car, in excellent condition with a clean title.

I bought the car in February of 1999, and all of the modifications were done during my ownership. I am sure I will forget some things, but here is a basic list of what has been done to the car:

Motor:
JE forged pistons (.020" over)
Eagle rods
ARP rod bolts
ARP main studs
balanced
torque plated
new water pump
new oil pump
new timing belt
new timing belt tensioner
new gaskets (head, intake, turbo, etc.)

Head:
3 angle valve job
titanium springs
tiatanium retainers
Crower 264/264 cams
new valve guide seals, etc
ARP head bolts

Turbo kit:
RPS header
custom 60mm HKS GT wastegate
Tial 40mm BOV
Sound peformance SP71 GTQ with .68 exhaust housing (polished AND heat coated)
full 4" intake
custom 4" downpipe/midpipe (heat coated)
Tanabe Racing Medallion exhaust

Fuel system:
Sound Peformance fuel system professionally installed by Sound Performance
Custom dual feed, center return fuel rail
883cc injectors
twin in-tank fuel pumpsAeromotive fuel pressure regulator
fuel pressure gauge
EGR block off plate
all braided stainless lines

Electronics:
HKS VPC
HKS Super AFR fuel controller
HKS EVC EZ boost controller
Greddy 60mm electronic peak/hold boost gauge
Greddy 60mm electronic peak/hold EGT gauge
Greddy 60mm electronic peak/hold fuel presssure gauge
tranny temp gauge
G-Force ECU with 7800 rpm raised rev limiter
HKS DLI ignition amp
Blitz FATT turbo timer

Cooling:
Greddy 3 row front mount intercooler
oil cooler
tranny cooler
HKS 1.3 bar radiator cap

Brakes/suspension:
Stainless steel brake lines
Synthetic brake fluid
Metal Matrix brake pads
new factory rotors
Eibach pro-kit lowering springs
Cusco front strut tower bar
17 factory chrome wheels (with 275 40 17 Nitto DR's on back)

Stereo:
Sony CD head unit
Sony 10 disc cd changer
A/D/S 320is separates in the door (5.25" + tweeter and xover)
(2) A/D/S RS10 10" dual voice coil subwoofers
A/D/S 4100.2 amplifier (4 x 100 watts at 4 ohms)
1 Farat Lightning capacitor

Driveline:
Boost Logic professionally built auto transmission
Precision Industries 4200 stall lock-up torque converter
in-cabin manual lock up switch

Almost all of the major components of this car are brand new. For example, the entire motor, the head, the turbo, the BOV, the wastegate, the FPR, the tranny, etc, all have approximately 1600 miles on them. New coil packs were installed about 2 months ago. A new battery was installed last week.

This car needs NOTHING. It does not smoke, drip or leak anything.

The car made 701 RWHP on a dynojet dyno at 29.5 psi, tuned to 11.24:1 across the board, BEFORE the new 4" downpipe/midpipe.

Please remember, this is not the typical 100,000 mile car that someone threw a new shortblock in. This is a low mileage car with a fully built bottom end, headwork, cams and built transmission. No expense was spared on this car. Everything was professionally built and professionally installed.

Yes, the car has a clean title. It has no liens against it, and the title is in my desk drawer.

Yes, the car has a clean carfax. It has never been in a collision.

Yes, the dyno sheets and timeslips will be left in the car for the new owner. I can take pictures of them and email them in advance, if necessary.

The tires are in excellent condition. There are Kumhos up front and 275 40 17 Nitto drag radials in the back.

The car could be driven across country right now, as it sits. It needs nothing.

The coolant is fresh, the oil is fresh, the tranny fluid is fresh. The A/C still blows cold.

The car has run multiple XXXXX second passes at over XXXXX mph on drag radials in the heat on the same night. There is no question that this car performs.

We have another project we are working on, and too many vehicles our garage. This car is a steal at $36,500.

this thing is pretty much done, the only thing i'd do is get rid of that horrible VPC and go with AEM standalone. sounds like a beast, congrats!

Very nice...

Sounds like my car, except I have a six speed, 71GTQ .81 A/R, CP pistons, an AEM, GReddy 4 Row, GReddy intake manifold, 90mm throttle body, 150 shot, and 1000cc injectors.

You REALLY need to ditch that .68 A/R exhaust side and step up to a .81, step up to an AEM, and buy some larger injectors...

The .68 is holding you back BIG TIME on the top end.

Jammer, nice car!

For anyone that may be interested: I have a friend local to me (western NY state) that is thinking of selling his near perfect 98 Supra with low milege. The car has a single turbo with alot of stuff done to it (I dont know much about Supra's)...makes ~650-700rwhp.
