Default Installation question?

How hard is it to install the ls6 intake manifold,?
I just bought one and I was wondering if anybody could give me an idea of what kind of project im getting myself into how long etc.
If there is a site that shows step by step that would be very helpfull.

Not that hard. Pull the lid assembly off. Then pull the fuel rails off so it's easier to get the manifold bolts.Reach behind the manifold and unplug the MAP sensor and the vacuum line. Then undo the brake booster line at the brake booster.Unbolt intake and lift up -out carefully while feeding the brake line through. Make sure you install the LS6 coolant lines and plugs before installing the new intake.

Pretty easy.. Teh fuel line swill pop off with a good set of needle nose pliers, and like stated above, teh oil pressure sender is the only thing you have to worry about... if you break it like I did during my head swap, you can get a new one from napa for about 40 bucks.

Hardest part is the 8 mm bolts, you will need a deep and a short 8 mm socket to get to them, and get some rubber fuel tubing, adn cut pieces of it about 1 inch long, and slice them so you can spread teh fuel tubing out around the bolts, and use it to hole the bolts up in the back that you can't take out of the intake ecause of the cowl, this will make sliding the intake out easier. Unplug all the injectors, and leave them and the fuel rails on, I'd swap that stuff once the intake is out of the car.

I'd use a new set of intake gaskets, just to be safe as well. Probably overkill, but better safe then sorry.

yeah when doing my heads/cam swap we managed to break the oil pressure sender too...gm decided to wrap the brake booster line right behind it so if you pull foward it cracks it right off...other then that its straitfoward...you will probably rip up your hands pretty good on the cowl hold down spikes lol and theres one bolt thats a bitch to re-tq down. Im sure for someone who's done it a few times it would take less then an hour start to finish.

I cheated.... took a set of cutters and trimed all the spikes off flush so they wouldn't rip my hands up. I figure if I ever have to remove the cowl and reinstall.. those little clips can't be that expensive, I'll just get new ones, and trim the new ones the same way after reinstalling.

Come on down. You can help. Besides, I want the 78. I did bust his stones about the tranny, when he was busting on me to get heads.

I got Longshot dropping off his TQ wrench.
