cats in CT??
i have lt's, mufflers, no cats. i plan on welding on the heat shields for the cats to make it look like im running them. heard that it will be able to go through emissions and i havent gotten pulled over yet for loudness either.
Well as far as i know, just the act of moving the cats location is not a state crime but a federal crime.(Correct me if i'm wrong) However, most cops don't look/don't care as they were once young and did very similar things. As long as you have it tuned(Or o2 sims) and you buddy buddy with the guy doing the test, you should have no problems passing emissions. I'm doing LT's and no cats too, but i think i'm going to need to run some sort of muffler (Compared to the resinator in the loudmouth) just so i don't attract the wrong type of attention. Anyhow i hope this helps...
I am running a cam, longtubes and a catted Y with a loudmouth, and went thru emmissions last year with it. Car was shaking, rumbling, all that stuff, and the guy just looked underneath the car to see if the cats were there, no problem. As long as it passes the obd2 test you are o.k. A good set of high flow cats aren't going to rob that much power anyway, you're better off just running them then taking the risk of a big headache IMO.

yeah i was planning on def having the mufflers but the cats were up in the air. i'm most likely gonna run cats, just wanted to see who wasn't and if i could get away with it.

CT Emissions tester here... Don't worry about cats, just make sure your SES light is off and go to a hole in the wall testing facility, most of the time they never even look under the car (I never do).
