Default CT guys, clutch decision!

Anyone in ct willing to meet up w/ me one day w/ an aftermarket clutch so i can feel what its really like? I'm bent and i need a new one bad but i dont want to jump the gun and end up w/ a clutch that feels as mushy as the stocker, and i'm pretty much set against spec b/c i know they do feel mushy like stock. Anyone around??

Im not in conn. but im in mass and getting an ls7 clutch/ls2 flywheel installed this week and its supposed to have minimal chatter like thew stocker but grip like hell. I can let you know how it works out. I was in the same situation as you and I was set against a spec stage 3 so the next best one IMo was the ls7/ls2 combo. I got everything (ls7 clutch/ls2 flywheel/master + slave clyinders/pilot + throw out bearings) all for about $700 bucks. Id let you try it out but you would have to wait a few weeks for me to break it in, but then if youd want to meet id be willing to meet somewhere in mass (near conn.).

Chris i dont know what kind of pedal pressure your looking for but if you want a heavier pedal i know the Mcleod has a heavey pedal like a mustang which i personally hate, but if thats what you like then go for it but they are one of the more expensive set ups out there

thanks for the responses, Rob...whats your take on reliability w/ the mcleod? I dont know why i like the heavier pedal pressure, but i think i just have more control when i have to put a little more pressure into it.

i only know 1 person that has one (NoGo) and he has had his for along time and likes it his car makes 7-800rwhp and he has never had any issues, i just dont like the heavy pedal especially for a daily driver

I have been running a spec 4I for 2 years and it's a good it stiffer then stock, but not terrible.

I'd offer a ride, but I think my motor might say otherwise right now.

sounds good, i'll try to get in touch w/ NoGo, i hear ya about the daily driver...i'd be the same way but fortunatly i still have the jeep kicking around for back and forth to work. Thanks again for the replies, anyone else around let me know!

My mcleoud was a great clutch and the peddle was heavier then most. It lasted me 30k miles so it was very well made that's for sure. now I am using a spec 4 and the peddle is lighter on the 4 but not to light.

Interesting, i am looking into mcleod now, And i'm down on the coast in Milford. 84Z, why did you change to spec from Mcleod if you liked it? What were the downsides?

Well basicly the mcloed died after 30k miles and I don't have the power to warrant the price. The spec I got at a killer deal and since the 4 has no springs I would rather have a lighter pedal as I drive my car abit.

I see, that makes sense...i just started looking at the mcleods now, is the single disc the clutch you had? TR has it w/ flywheel and adj. master for 900...i was looking around the same for the ram and adj. What makes mcleods adj. so much more than ram? I know ram is basically modified stock, is Mcleods a totally diff. master?
