no more people will just complain, that the class isnt 100% tailored for their car, there will just be more internet racers with the usual "my cam only black camaro with bla bla bla"

the tech series didnt work cus people are not racers they only think they are, if they would have set up their cars to race with the rules the series could be really big now, but to many people have to many different set ups and everyone wants a class just for their car

also the bigger the field, the less racing you get to do and the more qualifying and sorting out you do, the event gets rushed. A 32 car field has 16 races, then 8 then 4 then 2 then 1, thats 31 races, not counting a qual pass or two for every car that shows

Chef ask around Eastside and see if anyone is interested in doing a race with us, maybe at MIR or Cecil, without the normal BS I know some guys are used to.

Im thinking Heads Up, qualify to seed ladder and race. No class BS. One set of rules, and go race, the idea is to showcase the fast late model stuff thats around now. I have some ideas on some other stuff to make a turnout, Ill shoot you a PM

I'd be in to go to a race this year... if I have a way to get my car there/can get my truck reasy to haul it down with someone's trailer I'd go.

I'm sure that the guys at the shop, providing it's not a conflicting date would be intrested, they have the camaro that they can bring, and depending on how late it is in the season, the 25.2 car might be done too, but I imagine that probably would be a little otu of the league of what this race is about.

I agree with Chef, the tech series was ruined by too many people crying about the rules..... that's why I'd suggest this be a loosely ruled race, a n/a and a power adder race and leave it at that, maybe just a top 32 race and that's it. If that were to be the rules, I know I'll get my *** handed to me the first round, hell probably would anyway, but I'd still be down to go, if nothing else I'd get to see what the guys that are running faster are doing, might give me some ideas.

Jl thats BS, weve won 8 second races with low 10 second cars, going thru the ladder. It can only happen if you show up and you race though

A bracket race w/2 classes....11.50 and up for the non-cage cars, and 11.49 and down for all the (cage-required) rest, both N/A and Power-adder....most always, the cream rises to the top..... WJ

Bracket racing is fine, it helps curtail the Money car vs the Budget car, but then some dick head throws in a ultra consistant FWD automatic car, thats when it gets pretty Ghey.

or even worse, the awd suv they drive every day that runs a consistant 19 second pass at 60 miles an hour.

2 classes of heads up racing, n/a and power adder, leave it at that.

If you're having a FASTEST car race, and a guy shows up with a 13 second car, he gets what he deserves.

hey man, it is what it is right?

FWIW, My junk's by no means the fastest, but in an n/a race I might be able to go a couple rounds.... not gonna be the fastest by any means and I know that. Or, if I add nitrous to it, I'd probably fall about mid pack again... but I'm fine with that, gotta start somewhere.

Im thinking to showcase the FASTEST stuff thats legitimate. It would take too much to have qual rounds for two classes, then run a full ladder of elims for each.

The way it normally works doesnt matter if your NA or not, if you have a short budget car, your probably not going to be the fastest stuff out there anyway even in a NA class. If we are showcasing what the LS1/LT1 stuff can do without getting too extreme... you cna go so far doing that NA, then its time for some power adders.

Im sure we could come up with soem sponsors that awarded the top qual NA cars, or the top finishing NA cars etc, but breakingstuff up into classes in the infancy of a race is what kills turnout, everyone jockeying, trying to build their car for this or that class.

F that, take your budget, take your knowledge, add em up, go as fast as you can, and drive that bitch home. That should be the name of the race!

I agree, with the exception of the driving it home... with a th400, 4.10 gears and 105 unleaded, I'm not driving all that far LOL.

**** it I'd run it in an open class run what ya brung, the kit will definately be on and running... still won't be enough but I'm sure it wouldn't hurt.

I COULD get away with 93 probably.... but with an ls2 and no knock sensors, I just run it to be safe more then anything. With nearly 13 to 1 compression I'd just as soon not take a chance.

I only put about 1500 miles a year on the car, and at about 9 mpg = 167 gallons.

6.50 a gallon = 1100 in fuel for a whole season. Guys that drive around and get 14 mpg and run 3.50 a gallonr (or more in the summer) and put 7 to 10 K on their car are spending more $ on gas then I am, so it' really doesn't bother me.

Car goes to 1 or 2 shows a week, sometimes I will take it to one that'a about 35 miles away, but that's maybe once a month.... and the 105 I get is at a station near my parents house where I stop by about once every other week, so I just fill up the three 5 gallon cans I have and bring it home.
