My buddy just picked up his new C6 about a month ago. He did the museum delivery and the tour guide said that 1 out of every 6 vettes coming off the line this year will be a Z06. The most since they introduced them he was told. I think we're going to be seeing a lot more of these ths year guys.

The problem with buying a Z06 is that you have to be wealthy, not just to initially buy one, but to upgrade to a new, higher-horsepower Z06 that seems to come out every two years. In contrast, the regular Corvette horsepower rating seems to be good for every four years.

Very true but this is the 1st time GM's top model vette has been offered with a bigger displacement than the lower model in a long time. Im pretty sure with the buzz this car has on the street the next upgrade might minimal just like the upgrade in horsepower with the 1998 F-Body to the 01 F-Body.

Yeah right, Carlton. You're going to see the 505 horsepower bumped up 550 for the '08 model and then bumped up to 600 for the '10 model. And then you'll see a 700 HP LS8 come out for the '12 model. Just watch.

And don't forget that just getting one is tough. A huge dealer in South Jersey told my buddy they add a 15k surcharge to the Z06. Gave him some BS reason why which should be illegal so if you want one around here your gonna pay 90k for it. I think my buddy would have actually ordered one but he really wanted a vert. No Z06 verts so he just went with the standard C6 with the Z51 package.

If someone gets that car at a fair 6% over invoice, then that's fantastic, but if somebody paid $90,000 for it, then that's highway robbery. I would just wait till the whole Z06 I-gotta-have-it-now-craze dies down (in maybe 2 years?) and then get a fair deal on it from a respectable dealership.

I agree that the dealers are raping people on the Z06 but even at 90k the new Z06 is a real steal when you see how it compares to other supercars that are MUCH more expensive. If I had 90k and a dealer willing to sell me one I'd plop it down without even thinking twice.

The C5 is an awesome car, but I'll take the new C6 body style anyday over the C5!

Agreed. My buddy just bought a C6 with the Z51 and a vert too. I got to drive it for like an hour and it is an awesome machine. I doubt he'll let me drive it again though

Same here, I needed an automatic and also wanted that open top summertime thing (it really just makes the experience that much more) goin' on, otherwise I would've gotten a Z06 LS7 instead of the C6 LS2.
