Default !!need someone in ct area to do t-top conversion!!

like the title says i need someone in the ct area or reasonable driving distance to do a hard top to t-top conversion on my car for cash i have all of the parts needed as well as a bunch of install pages

i hear ya but i love t-top cars too much to not do this conversion,i know i should have bought a t-top car from the start but i got a good price on my car

yeah thats was mine im still not sure if i should go turbo or sc though,i know i like my hard top but i have been in my cousins car (t-tops) and its fun as hell to drive and be able to see and hear everything around you plus i have been driving hardtops all my life and now im gonna change that

Eh...the hardtop does little to nothing to enhance rigid chassis. A HT shell is prolly a wee bit lighter though.

thats what im saying and the car already has boxed subframe connectors so it very rigid as is

Yup, I've had mine off the car, the HT is just a plastic shell that is epoxied onto the car.

To that end, make sure whomever does your swap that they use the correct epoxy or the outer finish paint might bubble.

i wasnt even thinking about thanks for the heads up on that you wouldnt happen to have a recommendation on epoxy would u?

the more i look at the write ups the more i think i will be able to do this my self i just have to get a hold of the tools

I didn't do mine myself, it was fixed under warranty by a local body shop and I saw it when they were halfway done.

I would get the epoxy from GM just to play it safe. I guess all you'll be epoxying is the sail panel and I bet that is much easier than installing the whole HT.

You will have to remove the roof liner, obviously. Cut the old epoxy to liberate the HT (dremmel?). It's not that difficult of a job I imagine.
