Yeah, but the rest of us should step up to the plate and help them out. I know I won't sleep so well on cold winter nights in my warm comfortable home knowing that these poor folks are suffering because they believe in the sovereignty of our nation. What I find most compelling about all of this is that they are a segment of our society which has been neglected, yet they identify so strongly this great nation. Talk about putting your money where your mouth is! I'm embarrased to say that if I were struggling financially and my family was facing a harsh Alaskan winter I don't think I would be able to turn down free or discounted heating oil from Venezula.

As much as I disagree w/ Chavez, that's just dumb. That sign is a part of Fenway.

I can't be mad at them if they wanted to take the $, but I very much applaud those who turned it down. If they had a Paypal fund, I'd actually donate a few $ to those who turned it down.

I think its sad that people in Alaska are forced to chose between taking foreign aid and freezing to death... for Christ sake, we're supposed to be the most powerful country on earth and we can't keep some of our citizens warm.
