Emissions MD?
Emissions MD? What would it take for a TA with longtubes and a tr230/224 cam to pass emmisons in Maryland. the car doesnt have o2sims for the rear and the check engine light it on is that all it would need? if they put it on the sniffer with the cam do you guys think it would pass anyway?

They don't use a "sniffer" test for cars after 1996 in MD. Only the OBDII check engine test in which they plus into your computer under the dash. You will NEED to have the check engine codes deleted, not just reset, but deleted out of your PCM with the use of LS1Edit or HpTuners or the like. I've gone through with longtubes, no cats, etc. and no problem.

It checks for any codes that have been tripped, emissions or not. You can not have any codes tripped when you go through the emissions test, NONE!!
I don't know if any dyno shop can do it, they have to have an LS1 specific program as far as I know.

I go to a place called FBody Central up here in Baltimore. I think they charge like $50 to remove all the codes. Takes about a minute or so. Not sure if there's any place closer to you or not.
dont buy one yourself. go to a speed shop that has one. its alot cheaper to pay for the use of the tuning software then to do it youreself. call jason at F-body central 410-242-0404. hes in arbutis md(spell.) he has the stuff you need, wouldnt hurt to get a tune either , especially with longtubes and no cats and a cam. call him and tell him what you need, for full use of the tuning software it runs about 400 or 450 last time i checked...its unlimited though and you can get code deletes, custom tuning, adjust rev limiter, adjust for gears and tire size and w/e you need.

The once per trip tests on the right side. I am not 100% sure, but which ever ones your vehicleis equipped with, you can't not be ready on 2 or more. Or maybe it's 3 or more. So once Jason (great guy) resets your pcm, you need to do some driving for a bit to get those test to pass.
