That auction is crazy. Everytime I see it the same few guy are always there. There is this one guy that buys every nice Vette that goes up for auction. I have seen him on tv spend over 2 million on vettes at that auction alone must be nice.

There is a big collector right here in Paxton, huge metal storage building, name is Pete Bogren -- a big friend of Don Gartlits. He was on B-J show last nite bidding on a white '61 Impala 348", 4sp. hdtp., but he missed it at $50k...He'll buy at least 3-4 GM cars there before week is over. All he does is buy-sell classic and muscle cars -- travels continously. Hauler always unloads the stuff right down the street from my house... WJ

Bad time for buyers to be there. We left around mid-afternoon. The deals started drying up as they tried working the less than reasonable buyers into a frenzy.
Many of those cars tonight sold for much, much more than similar and comparible cars did Wednesday through Friday.

Yes, I feel that most of the good deals ended on Thursday. After watching most all of the tv coverage, I see they wait until wknd to send the big stuff thru....Maybe a couple of deals today...being the end of it. Crazy, crazy money for the stuff going on the block there... WJ

Sunday, 1:15pm: '02 red Z28 coupe Hot Rod magazine built "test car", supposedly 650 hp only a few miles -- pulled only $30k....it'll be a long time before any of these 4th Gen F cars are worth big $$...exception being some real specialized ones...

I was watching a '72 454 'Vette coupe, 23k original miles and in absolutely beautiful condition. It was a very slightly and very tastefully modded car with block-hugger headers, pulleys, aftermarket wheels and some minor suspension mods. Great car, and it went for $41.2k including BC...and this was a very nice big block car. (lot 1079).
A fully done pro-street '66 deuce with a blown big block, tubbed, very nice paint (one flaw I found on the passenger side door) went for $53.9k including BC (lot 1072).
Another big block 'Vette, this one a marina blue '68 with a 427/400, very well documented, restored and numbers matching (but with mild cam), factory air car in fantastic condition went for $63.8k including BC. It was lot 1065.1. I saw this car in the tents after it was sold, and it was in as fine of shape as anything I saw in the pavilion that went for well over 6-figures on Saturday night.
