Pinks All Out
way I figure it, there's not gonna be all too many times I can go race with the posibility of winning some $ with a car like mine, never mind 10 grand.
I don't think for 2 seconds that I will win anything, but you know how it goes, you can't win if you don't play.
I believe last time they did cars running 10-10.5 or so if for some reason the track isnt set up well and youre running like 11s even that very well could be the group they pick and im sure a lot of cars will be running high tens low elevens.. but i remember you posting before and i think someone else drove your car on that 10 sec run, correct? what have you driven it to?
The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time
I have driven the car to high 10 second runs myself, here is a link to the video.

LVD's score board was malfunctioning as usual, but you can see the MPH, and I have time slips to prove it. The first and 3rd run I drove the car, 2nd run I had the guy that lined me up the first and 3rd run drive the car so I could see what it was doing (spinning). I am the guy in the blue shirt lining the car up 2nd run, and you can clearly see me in the car the other runs... so let's put that crap to rest. (please ignore commentary by the clown cameraman, he gets over enthusiastic sometimes) 2 other runs in the 10's were also made that day, but are not on the video. 5 full runs were made that day ranging between 10.80 and 10.97, each run we made an adjustment to the shocks/tire pressure to try to get the car to hook, but the track was not great that day, fair but not great, and I think leaving off the converter is ust too much for the 27x11 qtp tires I had on the car. A set of 28x10s ET drags are going on, and getting screwed to the rim, which I suspect will be a great help.
As you can also see, the car is not hooking all too well yet either, and the rims are moving a ton on the beads as well, both situations that will be solved this year, I suspect 10.50 is not too far out of reach. motor also also has not been tuned agressively at all yet... there's at least a good 20 more hp on the table too, which will only help.
I would love to go and get picked to run.. I highly doubt that my car out of a field of 350 will be one of the 16 that will get picked.. but who knows, only to find out is to go and see what happens. The tenative plan at the moment is that I'll go with sonic snake, if he gets picked I will help him, if I get picked he will help me (that's who was in the car for run #2 of the video, and was lining me up in the video) His car is probably alot more likly to get picked, it's a hugger orange camaro, which is a consistant mid 9 second car with a small shot of nitrous. But, I think alot of it will depend on what shows up for cars. Hell I bet if 16 cars show up and are all running between 12.0 and 12.1, it will be a 12 field. That's part of the show.
the tech will be by nhra/ihra standards I'm sure, 10 second cars will have to have a rollbar as they would at any other time, along with all the other stuff that is needed (5 pt harness, safety loop, proper lenth wheel studs, batt. shutoff if it's relocated, etc.etc.) You will not have to have a full cage for a 10 second car, that I am certain of.
you're going too... sweet... that means we have 3 speed ranges covered, gary in the 9.5 to 9.9 area, you in the 10.0 to 10.49, e in the 10.5 to 10.9 range. Helps the hopes that one of us will get picked.
