y pipe?

Default y pipe?

is it worth swapping my catted tsp ypipe for the tsp offroad set up? will i see gains? how much? will it be alot louder because i have issues with local law enforcement as is....

Not really worth it if you ask me, 1-2 hp for more noise, extra smell and you'll be forced to swap for emissions.

Cats have come quite far from the ones in the early 80s, the newest series of magnaflow cats flow 250 hp lossless, so with a Y pipe setup you'll need more then 500 WHP to really matter and then it'll still be small.

Yea, I am not even going to mess around when I buy my dynatech setup, im just going to keep it catted. Especially with the Corsa exhaust going on, something gotta quite down.

It might be worth 5+ rwhp depending on your mods, but the tsp catted y-pipe flows pretty well. I had more of an issue though with my catted y-pipe as I had the craptastic mac cats which suck and my cammed car responded a lot more to the ory.

at your power level you won't see much I don't think. there are some cats out there that have been on cars making over 800 at the tires. That being said... I think you can run some of the better ones into pretty high power levels before you will see any substantial gain by removing them.


FWIW I'm still running a catted qtp y pipe, it was on my car the day you saw it at the rental @ lvd last october.

back years ago when i tested this idea on my SLP stuff i gained 15hp and 15tq in the curve but nothing at the peak and the car got louder, i would keep the cats
