6pt, fully removeable door bars. after seeing some of his previous work i know it will come out exactly how i want it :)

sweet. I don't know how you plan to paint it, but I got this gloss black urethane paint that I'm doing mine with, with a brush no less. It's reall thick and cvers well, after the 2nd coat it really does look good, almost powdercoated. A small foam brush is working out very good as an applicator. The paint is a self-leveling paint too, so it's drying with zero brush streaks in it. WAY easier then masking off the entire car and going about it that way.

After climbing in and out of mine painting it, I understand the rmovable door bars, I didn't opt to put them in, but then again I don't drive my car much anymore so it's not a big deal, you still like to rive your,s probably a good move for sure.

Get pic's of it when it's done, I'm sure it will come out good!

Yea its main duty is street, the setup im getting should be nice and outta the way too no ankle biter pieces like the wolfe swingouts leave.

Thnaks for the tip on painting. im up in the air as to go wit por15 or just a simple paint like you stated. although i did see some sweet tough spray that the shop used on there own shop truck that looked mint and holds up to abuse too. even if it does chip easy as hell to touch it up. im going this weekend to see what paints are out there, i really dont wanna mask and spray id rather foam brush it :jest:

Tracer X Mar 1, 2007 03:28 PM

Yeah, cause if you use a spray gun, like you use a blow torch we're ALL in trouble!

I'v eseen a rollbar that a guy painted with truck liner if you are talking about that, it kinda looked o.k., if you can get one that's not too textured it would probably work.

The urethane stuff I got is actually used on boats and stuff, the guy that did my rollbar got it fro me from a marina. sherwan williams makes it. I'll get pic's of how it came out once the interior is back together, but it dried smooth as glass and is tough as nails (I tried chipping it on one of the floor plates as a durability test, I stabed it with a scrwedriver pretty hard, and it didn't leave a mark)

A couple coats of this stuff and it's good to go.
