BS it's not so much the tranny itself, the clutch is more the problem. The internals of the tranny are pretty strong as far as holding power, it's when you shift that things tend to break.

The output/input shafts at some point should be upgraded.. a car like evil's car probably should and I imagine does have the upgraded output/input stuff... but until you are at that power level the stock stuff is fine. a tranny blanket, never a bad idea but again, the clutch coming apart should be more the concern.

my car has a mcleoud scatter shield, dennys billet ended driveshaft.. stage 4 t56

Why?? Have you personally broken one?

I've never taken off a broken one and the one's I've seen break were on Moser 12 bolt cars(thank the screws backing out). Stock TQ arms have been in the 9's no problem

bent one, didn't break it. bolts were tight too.

Thats weird since Keith has a ton of 5000rpm dumps with slicks and Mikes 800+rwhp car hasn't hurt them. Your car was only in the low 400's with minimul track passes?
