Default Mass. inspections and no cats

Hello

I was wondering if anyone here passed the Mass. car inspection running no catalytic converters.

I am considering installing some Kooks LT's and their off road x-pipe (no cats).

If you did pass, did you need to get your computer flashed?

Thanks

as long as you dont throw a code, you pass. no one looks under your car. you can either get teh computer returned, or you can get o2 sims.

Slowhawk tuned here. I could take my cats off and pass emissions, rear O2's are ignored. But I prefer to keep the cats on. You don't lose too much HP, your exhaust won't smell bad, and you will pass inspection if the tester (or cop pulling you over) is a ball buster. Just my opinion.

Btw, diw you see the 'Dez Racing Dyno Day' sticky at the top? You should bring your Z06.

If you should get caught by a registry/trooper w/o cats in Ma., get ready for a fine that you probably won't be able to afford...it's also a Fed. offense to remove them.....WJ

Passing emissions is easy.If your scared of the cops just hollow out some so they are there.I have yet to hear of someone getting a ticket for not having them.

guys, i had a camaro ss, long tubes, no cats, slp loudmouth and a t-rex cam. i got stopped at about 5,000 rpm passing a cop. as the car was getting the plates stripped, my license taken and the car was moved to the flatbed, the cop asked me why he could see the fumes at idle during the night. he didnt zap me for not having cats but all it takes is a 224 cam, no cats and a cop who knows his ****.

roll the dice baby! ahaha

There are a number of ex-registry cops that were all automatically made state troopers in Ma. patrolling around in some blk and some dk. blue Excursions. They are notoriously hitting on loud cars, loud bikes, bikers wearing non-DOT approved helmets, etc. They are also carrying the sniffer kits to check late model loud cars for cats right at roadside. They're also busting for ultra-deep tint glass, pickups/suv's w/huge tires sticking outside fenderwells too far, bumper height too high, etc. Pray you don't get pulled over by one of these peckerheads...they are making life miserable for alot of people around central Mass, and soon will be coming to a town near you.... made me go to the atm to get tow truck money, took my license from me to revoke it, took my plates, put my car on a flat bed, charged me with some criminal **** and made me go to court. lost my license for a while, paid a couple of grand in fee's, fine's and expenses for everything. after 6 months and a safety course and another 1500.00 i got my license back.

only to lose it less than a week and i went through all of the above all over again and it costs me alot of cash again.

then last month i had a warrant out for my arrest, i was stopped again and lost my license again, i was locked up for the night and had to pay more money.

all in all i have spent alot of money and almost 75% of all my vacation/sick time going to court for quite some time. everytime i get stopped by the cops they take 15 minutes to read my history and go from being normal about stopping me, straight to being a royal dick. i'm getting used to it and i dont even get upset anymore.

the whole "hand on the gun and yelling at me to stay the **** still" as i'm sitting in the car with the engine off and both hands on top of the steering wheel looking straight ahead still gets the better of my nerves. i dont trust cops with guns, espically when they are all excited and seeing red. i scan my mirrors driving around at least once every 5 seconds, you want to see paranoid, drive with me hahaha

wow...What did the cop cite you had for the first time passing him? I'm assuming with the T-rex cam + 5 grand = very very high MPH?
