BS I think the turbo exploded and when it did, it took ALOT of stuff with it.... that's my guess. Timing chain, water pump, probably the radiator and intercooler too... everything within x amount of distance from the turbo probably got destroyed.
how and why........ My guess is something made it's way into the turbo and caused it to explode. like a hand grenade. I can't imagine what that must have sounded like.

umm guys...thats a real untouched photo from my camera phone...the timing chain is painted black and half of it flaked off 
Nothing is wrong...we put a new cam in, retune, new alt brackets, painted some stuff. Dynoed it yesterday. Heads still havent come off in 13 months...and yet it made another 8 plus pulls at 800+.
