Cant wait to kill myself on this
the raptor is JUNK, my buddy got one, not only is mine faster, but it climbs 10 times better ect ect. the raptor has no bottom end, it dies about 1/2 way up the hills. lol
junk, even the 660 was junk, tippy and all. just not a great machine.
the new 450 is insain, my buddies rips, let me know when you want to mod it, this stuff my buddy got worked unreal!! atleast 3-5 mph and revs faster and higher.
just be carefull, adjust the valves after your first 3rd or 4th ride it needs to be done, once it is done they are good for a while. if you need a hand let me know, i have the hot cam shim kits, so i have every shimyou could possably need, i bought the kits when i did my cams
i pulled the carb off, then had to come eat, now im off to do a little 4x4 with my buddies trucks. then back here for the carb tear down, clean and back together..
damn ethanol
The newer Suzuki 450s haul ***. I have a Honda 450R and in stock form the 'Zuk walks on me. They are a little on the low side for trail riding. On the track, they are the most fun you can have off the showroom floor.
They did an awesome job with the Kawi 450. Looks bad *** in black. Only problem is the black gets scuffed up and looks worn more quickly than any other color.
LOL @ Brad.
I've had my carb apart 10 times. If I let the thing sit for a month or two, the floats and needles in the carb get gummed up/stuck closed. I guess there is an additive you can get that prevents that when using pump gas. My buddy sells it at his shop.
Lately, I've just been starting mine up every 2 weeks or so.
Yes the color scheme is badass until it gets scratched and worn... black plastics show Everything... It would be my choice as well though!
As for the Raptor being "junk" .... I have an '04 and it's far from junk. No it's not a race quad, it's not low or very wide and does get tippy at times, still far from junk. It's a great trail bike and has plenty of power and tons of low end torque as well as reverse just incase! All depends what kind of riding you're doing. But really where's the need to go anywhere near 50mph in the woods or hell, even over 70mph in a pit??
These places you speak of in Maine..?? Legal spots? Need ME registration? Private land?
Brad, if you don't mind PM me some info please! Thanks
