Well, my previous contact was with Joe Lombardo, the track manager at NED. In his e-mail he stated that the rules said that the vehicle must be either Chevy bodied or Chevy powered. Now, if I pop my hood next to my buddies '02 SS, besides aftermarket heads and intake, our engines are the same. I plan on attending and bringing my car to tech. My car IS "Chevy Powered". I bet if a Mustang showed up with an LS1 swap done, they would let him race, no difference with T/A's or Goats. I certainly hope they wouldn't actually turn anyone willing to pay the $28 bucks to run the just racing for fun class away.

they ALWAYS let the pontiacs run, last year they let them at super chevy and i was told this is supposed to be the same thing since there was no super chevy this year, it would be stupid if they didnt, IMO

if it is a chevy engine they will let u run...

Stop building the GTO, leave it as a bottom 11s car (high 10s if I have anything to say about it in October) and trade/sell the street bike for a'00-02 Trans Am with T56 and "SOME" go fast parts...... Whatcha think?

What do you need the T/A for?? I would say go for it, if thats what ya want.

idk bout that, the gto i think would be a better DD over an fbody unless he wants to get a vette for a DD

Well, the word just came back from Joe. As long as we are running LS or LT series engines, we are allowed to race! I can't wait, should be a great time and my first results in the 1/4 with the new engine.

I have a daily driver... a 2000 Silverado 1500 4x4


Justin- I would need a Trans Am for a Drag car to leave my GTO as is.
I hope you got MT ET streets/drags, Hoosiers or BFG radials. Otherwise yea probably kiss the rear end good-bye (that's why I went with a soft sidewall slick)! Like my buddy who broke the output shaft on his tranny do to wheel hop from the N20 hitting while the MT Radials were trying to grab.... ouch

Keith- I thought about that too with the vette... but the vette would be the drag car instead of the f-body! LoL But the pricing on that would be insane while keeping the GTO as well.

Who knows.. just crazy thoughts for now.. of course until the bike and quads sell.... !

Who knows, It would/will be A LOT of money either way, more than the bike is worth to get it going fast enough anyhow

If i can work a miracle and get my car fixed by the end of this week then i wil come race. Just waiting on the guys in TX to finish the tranny and the new axles and drive shaft to get sent up from SC. Then some new jets for the nitrous and some air in the drag bags and we'll be good to go. If the car's not running i may still make the trip up just to hang out and watch.

Are ET streets considered street tires ? If so will be running the street class.

they need to be D.O.T. approved.... says right on the tire i believe..
