Good Mechanics in NJ? Hey, i bought a 98 camaro z28 end of august, on the way home the car died on me. Me and my friends know alittle about cars so we have been trying to fix it ourselves when we have time to save some cash but at this point i just want it running again. Does anyone know a good place to bring it? I live in Nutley (northern NJ) and my normal mechanic has nvr worked on a camaro so i dont want to bring it there. Help anyone?
I live in Toms River, but currently deployed to Fort Benning, GA. I will be home at the end of november. give me some symptoms of what happened and what happens now when you try to start it? do you have battery power? does the engine crank? if it does crank does smoke come from the exhaust? need details maybe i can help.
what particular models a mechanic has worked on is not really all that important for general repair. as long as they have a basic understanding of GM late model products they should have the knowledge to fix it.
give symptoms and we can give you some feedback, if you know anyone or any shop with a scan tool that can tell you any of the error codes that the computer is throwing that would be extremely helpful. many local auto parts stores are starting to offer free error code scans to let you know what is going on with your car.
