Car went down today :(

Anyways, I've got an LQ4 motor 6.0, and set of HPE Stage 3 5.3L heads sitting in my garage. The cars going down for however long it takes me to complete the project, and whatever other things I chose to do. So far the project includes the motor and heads.
Anyways, what would you guys recommend I do to do this project right and not have a problem with it. The motor has 60,xxx miles on it, and seems to be good. Everything spins freely, factory cross hatching still in cylinder walls. What would you guys recommend I do to the motor? I probably plan on spraying it with at least 100 shot of nitrous.
The assembled heads have 1,500 miles on them, and look like they are in good shape. Would you guys recommend new springs and rockers for the heads?
My future possible plans include maybe a 9 inch, and roll cage for the car as it's not really a daily driver anymore, but that's to be determined on funds.
Basically I'm putting her down and want to do everything right. The car can sit for however long I need her to sit so that's not an issue, it's already been pulled off insurance. I want to do everything right, and not cut any corners so that I don't have to do it a second time.
The only real uncertainty I have is if I put the g5x2 cam into the new motor which in my LS1 netted me 426/394 cam only with 853 heads, or go bigger. I know the g5x2 would be a good all motor/spray cam.
Thanks for any help and advice, and thank you to anyone who takes the time to read my random @$$ post lol.
Thanks again, Chris
