Default Diesel tuning in MA

Picking up my new(well new to me) 05 Crew Cab GMC Sierra duramax tomorrow. It already has an exhaust on it and an Air Raid intake. Just wondering if there is a tuner that can take a look at it for me, see if its all that it can be in it current state. I drove the hell out of it today for about an hour. Thing runs awesome.

Here is the link to it on autotrader:

Thanks

Cummins > Dmax lol

But anyways seems like a good truck. Miles are a little high, but I don't know pricing on DMAX's.....The truck looks clean in the pictures. I myself would not be too too afraid of the miles as with 65k on a 2-2.5 year old truck she must have been a highway queen

I got my 05 cummins for 28 with 38k miles on her, but mine doesn't have leather and crap so the deal is probably a good one. I'd jump on it. Truck looks good + you will LOVE a diesel. I love mine. It's amazing that with a plug in tuner you can net like 200+ hp and equivalent if not more torque...just make sure you have the supporting mods.

Or be like me and KIaSaP

Keep it as stock as possible

Miles really arent that high. Its an 05 and its a diesel. Diesels dont break in till over 100k. The previous owner used this truck to tow his race cars. And took very good care of it. I would hook a trailer up to this thing and take off for a cross country trip with my camaro in tow without even thinking about it.

I dont have big plans for it, since it already has an after market exhaust and an air raid intake on it. I do plan on driving it daily, and possibly doing a conversion to bio-diesel on it.

Hey I agree, diesels are the way to go for dead reliability. Just stated really that it seems it must have been a highway queen which is a good thing. As for the bio-diesel thing I wouldn't. From my readings on the cummins forums there have been guys running into problems just over 100k after running bio-diesel almost the full life of the truck. And when I say problems I'm talking motor problems, but I'll try to look for the thread that says bio-diesel isn't as good as it is made out to be. Has something to do with taking serious abnormal wear on the internals

damn Keith, my bad, I should have told you that I was hanging out at Mickeys in Medway last Friday. We had a butt load of people there. It was a good time.......I will check into Mass Diesel. I am not picking up the truck till tomorrow (Tues). They wanted to shop my truck around see what they would give me for it on the trade. The 2 wheel drive thing is hurting me, but is a really clean truck. So I will be picking up the new rig on Tues. Man I cant wait. I am going to be driving around all day!!!!!! lol....

Yeah, I am going to do a lot of reaseach before I convert anything. I will be driving it daily. Since this truck is replacing my DD anyways. I am really excited about it. My buddy with an 07 F350 didnt even want to race me I asked him if he wanted to line them up, he said "hell no" But then again, he is a cop in Uxbridge....hahaha...

Dude you will LOVE it. I had an F-150 prior to my 2500 cummins and I couldn't be happier. I would just leave running regular ULSD in the tank. There are millions of tips or tricks for getting better mileage. The strangest I saw was running two stroke oil (16oz per fill up) and I did try it. I didn't notice ANY difference in the mileage, if anything seemed to lose a little. Just pick out a tuner that won't damage anything. There are people with my truck reporting 22mpg hand calculated with intake/exhaust/tuner upgrades and thats it. These diesels are so much fun.

Another thing is just keep em well maintained and they will last you. Fuel filters are huge on these. My filter from MOPAR is like 8 bucks so I change mine every oil change, some say do it every other. 13 quarts of oil is fun to change too lol.

Just enjoy her man, your getting a hell of a truck. Goodluck with it, and keep in touch with her

Troll around on there, seems to me there are a good amount of Dodge/Ford/ and Chevypeople on there.

Oh I had some fun with it the other day when I drove it. I took it around down town Hudson, then decided to see how it did on the highway. At 70 I stood on it, and it just took off I cant wait to pick it up. Hopefully tomorrow Oh, I cant wait for the first oil change..hahaha. Thanks for the link. When I pick it up tomorrow, I will post up some pics on here. Thanks again

Good I look forward to seeing those pictures man. You going to change the exhaust and put stacks on or leave the exhaust on there? My plans are a smarty jr tuner, comes with 3 settings mileage-25 hp, a tow setting 65 hp, and race at 100 hp. The race I would never touch, and would just cruise at setting 2. I do want to put stacks on mine because there is something about a diesel with stacks blowing black smoke through an intersection that does something to me

naw, I think I will just leave the exhaust the way it is. There is already and aftermarket one on there. Has a nice throaty sound to it. I dont want it too loud. Since my camaro is already loud enough. I may just do a tuner, with the settings to it. See if I can squeeze some gas mileage out of it. With 1/4 tank in it the other day, I drove around for over and hour, and pretty much gave it hell. I brought it back with 1/8th of a tank..lol. Besides, I use the bed of my truck, and I dont want pipes sticking out of it.
