Blahster,
DONT take it across the street from Shawns shop. The guy is royally ******* me! We agreed on $1k for my hood and bumper. He called a few times saying he wanted to blend the doors to ensure the color would match and he had to do some work on the bumper because of a crack in the fiberglass...anyway he called yesterday morning said the car was done. I went to pick it up it hadnt been wet sanded or buffed. There are pits all on the paint, trash everywhere, he sanded the edge of the hood to get the gap right...except he did it off the car so the gap at the passenger side door is rediculously big, and to top it off the bill is $3127! I am pissed to say the least.

Did he let you take the car, or did you have to settle the bill first? For that much the whole car should have been sprayed, but I don't know what kinda body work was done if any. Sucks. The Guy who painted my Bird did a good job but it was stripped out already and he did'nt do the door jams or anything but he did redo some body work I had done, and sprayed the car for less then $1000.00 maybe that was a scream'n deal I guess. Still that sucks, I know about big bills the guy I who did some fab wrk and my cage hit me about 3-4000 more than I was expecting so its all about communication I guess, but It sounds like he told you what he was doing just not how much the bill was going to be.

I told him he's not getting a dime until the car is actually DONE!
He is suppose to be wet sanding, re-clearing everything he painted, buff it and throwing in some airbrush work.
He kept trying to give me some sob story about how he doesnt have money to pay his mortgage and this and that...is that my ******* fault?!?!?!
**** NO!!!

Yea, he never mentioned any money at all... except to call a friend of mine to ask if $3000 would be too much for airbrush work i was looking at getting.
