Daytona 500.....
Who is this Dale Jr. guy everyone has been talking about? I'm still pulling for Tim Richmond(Dead), Harry Gant(Retired), Davey Allison(Dead), Dale Sr.(Dead). That last one was the hardest to type. I like Dale Jr. but I also like the guys who have some attitude , they are the ones who keep it entertaining for the whole season.

I think they've got a ways to go before an outright win comes their way, even with the awesome Tony/Home Depot combo behind them.

Cold beer, Good Food, Friends, Family, and the Daytona 500. LIFE IS GOOD, at least for today.
Dale Jr., but the Gibbs Toyotas have looked strong and I don't like that. I hope Jr. will cap off the weekend with a big win, but if not him I'd be fine with Gordon or Kasey Kahne getting the win.
The last 30 laps were good racing, I hope the season is not as boring as last year. The 410`s open this weekend at Lincoln and Williamsgrove, thank God real racing is still around.

Well, I called the 18 to push the 20 to VL, but the 20 was too fast and the 18 couldnt catch him to get the final push to take it all, so them slow dodge boys gave each other enough push to get by my boy in the 20. Oh well, if my memory serves me right I do recall Smoke winning the Cup after finishing 43 in the 500, so starting off in third is all good. Still would have loved to see him win the 500 though. But seriously if anybody had said that Dodge would have won it and had 6 out of the top ten in the 500, I would have laughed at them, who would have thunk that Jr would be the lone chevy in the top ten....
The Vegas odds on Ryan Newman winning the 500 were 30-1....where did all those Dodges come from? A very surprising finish. Nascar better do something better than parading the cars around under caution for 6 of the last 10 laps at 60mph though.....it sucks, and people watching on national tv and paying big $ for tix to see it live are sick of it. I say: don't count caution laps for race laps from last 10 laps to the finish. Give the people a good finish...the rest of a super speedway restrictor plate race is pretty boring anyway...just my .02 cents worth.

I think the race sucked donkey ***** after all the hype. Glad to see Ryan win again though.
On another note, I think with the new car they run now "with limited suspension travel" that the tracks need to be in better shape. Daytona is over due for a repave. Seems the bumps and ripples in the track were really upsetting the cars if the hit them wrong.
