Camcorder Help I am looking to buy a camcorder. I have a baby coming in june and would like to have something decent. I am looking to spent under 450.00. The two types I have looked at are dvd and hdd. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.

you can get a decent camcorder through amazon vs circuit city and best buy. Go to the box stores see what you want, and buy it at amazon. I got a ~$1000 (at BB!) camera for less than $400. I'd say get a mini dvd-disc right now as they are easy to save off the movie to a disc vs high definition ones that are stored in memory only. This should start you in the right direction
You can get a nice canon Mini-DV or Mini-DVD for under $300 if you look around.

I got a canon Elura mini-dv and I love it. You will spend a bit more if you want a HD picture though.

Go with a decent MiniDV
Both DVD and HD cams compress the format
MiniDv gives you raw/untouched footage
There's a REASON why all the high dollar cameras still use tape
